I use both. Tubecad great for preamp stages. SE Cad is for power triodes in SE. Most tube types are there but SE Cad doesn't allow me to add new tubes to the library. I like to play with 6sn7 and others small tubes for SE outputs.
Good programs, worth the money if you need them.

I am playing now with KT88 amp. I did the one with 6n1p and kt88 and the simpleSE from tubelab. I'd like to optimize cathode resistance, B+, and load to have minimum distorsion. The optimum would be to have a FTT Analyser, but it's far too expensive.
At the moment I have the standard configuration Cathode 560 ohm, B+ 422, load 5000ohm.
Does tubecad estimate distorsion ?
Thanks,
Davide
