Sonny, I value your care, but I prefer to debug it. That's why I'm diy - learning. I know my troubles are pain in the **s and it's faster to give me a new board, but unless it's smd stuff caught static problem, I can fix it. It's diyaudio in the end.
okay, no problem. You have to lift the power resistor in one end. Then you can debug the front end.
Sorry, but i have been working to 2.am in the morning and all day. As soon as i get to it i will publish it.
Same here. Long and intense work hours. But I couldn't sit still, so I've changed Q18 and Q19 to new ones, cleaned the board many times looking for shorts, alas no success. You've got mail.
I have sent you an assembled board. and two loose mosfets. (They work).
You have to go through the adjustment procedure we did the other evening on skype..
Best regards
Sonny

I must have sinned a lot my previous life or I am doing something very wrong when mounting this amp. I've just installed a fresh new board and I'm not getting votage at J7 and J8. I suspect D1 is not on. I took all the static precautions I could. Light bulb tester is not showing anything unusual. Can't figure out the problem.
HAve you followed the power up document? Only way D1 is not lit is if there is no current flowing or it is reversed. HAve you tried adjusting the pot with no success?
Yes, I'm well familiar with power up procedures. My guess, there's no current, as it's 0V across J7 and J8
Rail voltages OK. R10 doesn't help to get voltage on test points. If D1 is not conducting, then it's reasonable.
Most likely scenario is bad CS Jfet or reversed diode based on my knowledge. If you can access the bottom f the board, you can test the LED with DMM. This assumes all other bjt's are good. Sonny or Salas may be of more help. Not really spent a lot of time figurin circuit workings.
The board was assembled and tested by Sonny himself so no reversed parts. Testing D1 with continuity function on DMM shows no signs no matter I approach it. Could it be dead? I could test it with a battery? What voltage?
Do you have diode setting on your dmm. That is what you need. It will provide it with a little current to turn it on. ANode should be up. o toward positive rail. I have funny feeling it is something else, just dont know the circuit well enough. Clearly you dont have current through that node, which I believe is a Vref for the FE load. Wait and see what Sonny or Salas haev to ay. Sorry I could not help.
Well, I have the old board (dysfunctional) here too. Just checked D1 and it turned on with diode setting. That didn't happen on the new board. I suspect D1 as it's an a active part.
Very good question. I might try swapping them in my first SMD work attempt. But I'm interested what Sonny has to say on that.
After recalculation and lack of response i have decided to sell the tssa V1.6 modules assemblied and tested for 69€/channel.
