Trying to finish my mtm style speakers

It's funny how authors tend to write all kinds of nonsense that is basically on topic but yet not really useful to a rookie DIYer. As if they are envious to share the true knowledge. Almost a waste of time to read that kind of stuff.

Yeah , its like they assume the people reading have the basic knowledge of the detailed parts already, but when that isnt the case it can be hard to really understand the point of the information. If i was writing a book on welding and fabrication i wouldn't assume the readers could already put a descent weld down, which is kinda what most speaker books do it seems. Im going to try the other book first like classicalfan mentioned and see if its aimed more at my level
 
I had a look at xsim, and it didn't appeal to me...

I use this Visaton simulator:

It is very intuitive and phase and acoustic centre is easy to understand.

You can also import other manufacturers FRD and ZMA files with some effort, but its often hard to know how they were measured. As it is I just muddle along with Visaton's range of drivers, which aren't much different from everbody elses. And Visaton have already done the measuring for you.

Thank you, ill have a read of the thread you linked, im not a fan of xsim either its just the one that i understand better, i would have used vituixcad but i wasnt sure of the z offset conversion from xsim. I struggle with computers tbh, just because my job is hands on i never really get to do much on computers so its all a learning experience for me, so software that is easy to understand would make my life so much easier
 
My crossover parts came today, i set everything up and took some measurements, quite happy with the results, also played some music and i cant believe the difference now from the pc83 drivers playing alone, its like someone turned on the light, the amount of detail you can see in the songs now is exactly what i was after. the impedance ended up at just under 10ohms, which is making me think i should have done this build with the woofers in parallel instead, id have got almost the same spl as the tweeter too so overall it would have been a better choice for volume i think, but then again my av receiver could have struggled if i hadnt managed to get the systems impedance up to 6ohms. But oh well, live and learn i guess. I swapped out the 4ohm resistor on the tweeter for an 8ohm as the first test came out around 6db higher on the treble end, @system7 was right about the tweeter still being slightly higher than the woofers, (not sure how you could have known that 😕) but anyways heres the graph of the simulated response in blue, the actual measurement of the finished speaker with the higher resistor value is in red

This is unreadable. If you want to start using proper punctuation and capitalization I might be interested in hearing about what you are doing and have to say.

But without that I won't waste my time trying to understand it. Others may put up with it, but you've lost any interest I may have had.
