Hey guys. I'm a little new to HT. I have been building seal boxes for over 10yrs...But never builded a ported box and never use a program to build boxes. I have been in car audio for 14yrs and only used kicker subs.....because they put out some deep bass. I builded a box which is external dimensions (H-22) (W-25) (D-17) to get internal volume of 4.3 cu ft. I made it down firing with 4" 13" long port. I need help tuning it to 18-20 Hz. It shakes the whole house damn nice. I went to fry's this weekend and pickup a Velodyne DLS-5000R. Man...I must have gotten a bad one...because my sub blows it away. And I have this amp from partsexpress 300-796

Thanks

No no, the port I recommended using is 18" long, but flared so it's acoustically 17" long.

I just wanted to say that you couldn't install it on the side measuring 17" deep.

You will have less port noise with a flared port like that one.

BTW, I wanted to add that your box is a bit small for the C15 in a home environment. A better box would be 8 cu.ft tuned to 20 Hz. Huge, I know.

Hey simon5..I was thinking about that when i was building the box....but i would got kick out the house.😀 Thats the port i have now. I cut it in 1/2. Now it's like a L shap then put the end back on.

I still need to know if this amp is a good one to get. Or is there somthing better then this around the same price.

You said that your sub blows the driver away? Not sure what you are trying to say, but are you having problems with your driver being damaged? I noticed you have a down firing sub, and in your pictures it looks like you have very little clearance between your diver and the floor, as those feet on your box don't look very big. Perhaps your driver is hitting the floor? maybe you need longer feet on your box.

Good luck with the project,

Chris

Man! you lost me. I have no problem with my sub. I just want to know how good the O audio amp is. It look like a real nice amp. It have alots of controlls to tweak the sub for better sound. I like having controll over the sub. Don't for get...I'm in car audio to. I know car audio and HT is diff.

I for got to say that I have a Phoenix Gold bass cube hook up to the sub right now that I took out of my car system. That made a big diff....but it's going back in the car tonight. This is why i need to know if the Oaudio amp is good.

This is what the Phoenix Gold bass cube look like.
