To clarify, I believe rayma means set bias current to minimum; setting P2 to minimum resistance would bias outputs to maximum bias current, if I'm not mistaken.
Yes, of course. Presumably this would be full counter-clockwise. but some connect bias pots differently.

I’ve decided to take the amp in to a shop to have a tech look at it and hopefully get it sorted out in short order - no pun intended - and hopefully at not too great a cost.
When the diagnosis comes in, I will share the outcome.
He suggested putting speaker protection units in the amp. Any thoughts?
