So I inspected the solder joints a bit closer and decided to renew them with lots of flux🙂
When I vacuumed one out, the pad came off as well.
I went further with messing the thing up and asumed these pads are parallel, to be used with different pitched caps, I don't know...
The channel is still dead. Can someone point me in any direction or should I search for new amp boards and live in silence till they arrive?

Update:
It appears the heating up of the solder joints actually did help and saved the amp board and the reason why the channel went quiet was that I somehow damaged the signal cable while stuffing it all back into a very small enclosure.

I just received this amplifier. Looks good. is not the cheapest but for the built quality very nice. unfortunately it is mentioned to work only until 17V. Why? TPA3221 is made for voltage up to 32V...
This means very low power. Can it be the thermalpad that limits the power dissipation? Its not direct on the chip but a few mm away...
SOT6 are TPS54202 and TPS3808. So this mean the amp would work at 24V with no problems or am I wrong?
I change my mind and go with TPA3251 for main and TPA3221 for Surround because my IRAUDAMP05 did not work anymore... Power Supply just killed it :-/
This amp also exists as MONO version

Hello guy
My amp was DOA. The DCDC converter or something feeding the VDD was not working. No i give 5v VDD by a second power supply. Amp work really well. Now i can go to the maximum of VCC (32V)
It sounds and can get really loud but only at maximum for little time. The heat transfer is no well. So i will look for little copper plate Instead of the big thermal plate.
What is the best
Using my main power supply at 32v for both tpa3251 and tpa3221 for my amp or seperated power suppply with 36-38v for the tpa3251 and mabye 24v for the toa3221?
Main are driven by tpa3251 and center and surround by tpa3221
Thanks

So I just changed the thermalpad for an little piece of aluminium and now I have no limites. I can get to maxiumum 🙂 Little heatsink gets warm. Thermal shutdown workes fine. Befor the aluminium at higher volume and voltage it turned off automatically.

You are at the maximum voltage for the TPA3221... I would drop to 30v as on the TI doc, unless you are doing water cooling. The absolute limit is 37 volts. For the TPA3251...36 volts and it already heats up quite a bit. 👍
Hello guy, what do you thik of LOF120-20B27 (27V 120W PSU) for driving two TPA3221 for rear and center of my homecinema?
My TPA3251 Front will be driven by TPA3251 with Mornsun America LOF225-23B36R2 (36V 225W PSU). This looks to be the best way to get the best power for the $

LOF series are good for TPA amp in consider size and performance, but cost is higher than Meanwell LOF.
Just pay attention to the power, because it is often advertised with a CFM fan.
In passive obviously the power is less...
Mornsun make very good power supplies, but it may be necessary to take a higher power range to remain in passive cooling.😉

On board you have a Synchronous Step Down Converter TPS54202. You can see it on picrure. Max input voltage is 30-28vdc. Most likely your power supply of 32vdc kill converter.Hello guy

Yes i know about that. That was why i first only feed the amp with 17v as said on ali. But after it did no work i remote the dc converter. Because of no limitation i testet at 32v.
But now i ordred the 27v power supply for the TPA3221

The same on TPA3251 board. But there you have CLC filter after LDO
For better ripple and lower heat dissipation?

I've received my TPA3221 mono board and the power supply. Its really small. Why does the mono version of the TPA3221 have oamp (OPA1602A) and the stereo version not? Output capacitor are bigger but coil is the same. Fast test was good. I'm now waiting for my PCB with signal detection.
