TPA3116D2 Amp

Glad to hear you found the issue.

Solved.

I realized that after trying to improve the pre-amplifier with a new ALPS pot something was done unclean with the wiring and I think that was the reason for the preamp to start oscillate and damaged the amplifier module.
After re-work all the wiring and measure everything now it works perfect. The TPA3116 modules are still damaged... 🙁

Thank you!

Spent a couple of hours tonight testing my new YJ blue black boards, and using data sheets etc to realise their silk screens are slightly different, maybe even wrong. Also, one has extra circuitry at inputs which are possibly for volume/balance pot and rca inputs. They work very well regardless.

Silkscreen issues with the 3 smd parts under ends of heat sink though. One has no labels for any of the 6. The other board has the middle of the 3 at each end marked as 104 (presuming referring to 100K resistor. Then with the 2 nearest the bootstraps, one is labeled 1nf, and the other 10nf. It looks like the image of the 3 has been copied, rotated 180degrees, and pasted in place.
Planning to remove the heatsink temporarily while doing mods anyhow, so will check again then. I am guessing the 4 smd nearest bootstraps are the power caps bypass caps.

It also looks like they have lc filter for 4ohm of 10uH coils, except the silkscreen says 0.68 for the caps.
Checked on Ti PDF sloa119B to see the 4ohm with 10uH coils are recommended as 1uF, which I think they are fitted with.

Don't mind the few discrepancies at £9 per board, makes it more interesting.

That did not help,it is just that low level hum that drives me crazy
I am use to my amps being dead quiet as this one was before adding the
Cinemags oh well.
I am curious how others used these and had no noise?

QUOTE=doctormord;4308619]Would guess, the transformers act like an antenna. You may try 100k to GND at the input. (and/or 10nF)

I figured out the source of the noise,it was coming from the power supply
Either the cheap wire I have running from the pyramid supply or the
Pyramid itself,I hooked up a 12v switching supply fired her up and she is
Dead quiet.. I will try a better shielded wire on the pyramid and see if that was the source.

Guys,
The noise is coming from my pyramid after trying another
Well shielded wire still the same but the smps is dead quiet.
I am ordering the Astron RS-12a should be here Thurday.
As far as the Cinemags it for sure has a much bigger soundstage
With a little deeper Bass than Caps although I never swapped the original caps for a higher value say 3uf or 5.6uf with a better cap could be interesting.
One thing I will tell you is it totally gets rid of the on pop with the transformers.

Now I ordered 2 oscon caps to go in the SMSL 36A pro I have here and I opened up the casing.

Is it normal the thing looks like this std ?? So no caps on c45 and c46 position where the oscons have to go ??
