TPA3116D2 Amp

I've got some extras available, though I'm running short on inductors, including the big batch of Sagami ones I ordered from Jotrin.

Got everyone's boards built here, having a hell of a time getting mounting hardware, never expected getting #4 or M3 machine screws locally to be such a pain in the ***. Once that's all taken care of (within a couple days, I promise) I'll move onto selling off the extras and getting another buy on the go given enough interest.

I suspect my friend will want one when he hears mine.

Hey, I have not been following the Gmarsh build so this is news to me. Looks like a fine amp and glad the project was a success. The name wiener was coined for the Ybdz by who I forget but that was like 700,000 views ago so it's lost in the ether for those starting later. No big deal but we should distinguish the amps with Gmarsh Wiener vs Ybdz Wiener to keep things straight.

I really like my Chinese made Wieners - still use them as my amps with just the Oscons and bootstrap snubbers.

$13 board is different than the other. See the red led? Also there is a diode close to ps pins.

I noticed something else at the descriptions;

$13 board;

New other (see details): A new, unused item with absolutely no signs of wear. The item may be missing the original packaging, or in the original packaging but not sealed. The item may be a factory second or a new, unused item with defects.

$25 board;

New: A brand-new, unused, unopened, undamaged item in its original packaging (where packaging is applicable). Packaging should be the same as what is found in a retail store, unless the item is handmade or was packaged by the manufacturer in non-retail packaging, such as an unprinted box or plastic bag.

😕

Can't speak directly to the that exact model, but almost any laptop or LCD display power adapter with the right specs will do just fine. Don't need to worry about messing with raw AC that way either. I have an old Dell supply from a dead laptop, 19.5v, 4.6a, drives my amp very nicely with no detectable noise.

Hi
I had a strange experience with two of my TPA3116 boards this evening. I tried one board with a 3 tube pre that I use to listen last year just to compare the sound with another one. As soon as i power on the amplifier it start with a strong an repetitive pop in right speaker only. I immediately disconnected the pre an power on the amplifier again. Unfortunately it continue with this behavior only. Doing once again with a new board (curiosity killed the cat 🙂 ) and I received the same result. The pre use to be in a good condition until now but now obviously is not working and killed my boards.

Any idea how to fix first the boards and then the pre?

Thank you!
