TPA3116D2 Amp

frequency is just a telltale sign in one situation that I know of. it could very well be that these are also running at a lower frequency but the differences could be a lot more subtle.

in the past I have even seen ICs where the die was made at a smaller size (500 nanometer) than the original chip (600-800 nanometer) so the fakes were made with more advanced techniques than the originals FTDI FT232RL: real vs fake : ZeptoBars

I have not ordered one yet 🙂

I am considering to build a LBVS speaker (dutch speaker kit) but I will need an amp for it, first I wanted to build a gainclone but because the LBVS will set me back 250-300 euro for just the speakers I am looking into cheaper alternatives (or cheaper floorstanding speakers 😉 ) these class D amps sound promising but there are some things I am curious about like decent boards, upgrades and fakes and how well it will drive an 8 ohm speaker

That dual board looks nice but what happened to the input caps?

But can you imagine those being real?

2*2 dollar for the TPA3116
4*0.25 cents? For the inductors
1 dollar for the potentiometer and knob?

Some more components, pcb, labour and shipping and it is impossible to sell a genuine product 🙂

Yes $6 china sellingprice looks a bit low for dualchipboard, the board also has funny looking layout to me and being two chip pcb you will probably find a 400khz minimum chip running at 100khz, which doesn't mean it is not a TI chip. Inputcapacitors are SMD ceramic.
The "smakn" I mentioned was name for board given earlier in thread, a single chip board that has a $6.50 chinaprice. That board also has two default options for gainsetting and Philips Korea (Pilkor) input and filter film capacitors. The orange ones we like for royal/national reasons 🙂

Well original production locations Philips capacitors was Belgium I think🙂 Maybe Vishay still uses those, but might also be too expensive. There are some yellow French capacitors, Belgium king being King of the French, King of Belgium traditionally being the Dutch king🙂

I suppose you mean the factory in roeselare; sold to vishay and closed nowadays.

But nobody except the OP of this thread made his (or her) own boards? that way you can ensure that real and high quality components are used. oh and it allows you to use all those mods that people are doing on these boards 🙂

Go for the Pavel Dudek implementation of the LM4780. It sounds marvelous with linear PSU.

Yikes 30 euro for just the PCB excluding shipping, I'm trying to save some money 😱

I can get one locally for 15 euro including the LM4780, okay it does not have a zobel and/or thiele network but as far as I know nobody ever had problems with that version even though he sold over a hundred PCBs
