Does anyone have experience with Triad Magnetics toroidal transformers ?
Where are they made?
Can't decide between Hammond, Triad, or toroid corp.

Hi!
I have a huge 1000 VA transformer from Triad magnetics. So far I have no complaints. I don't know if they are really made in Perris, California.

I notice that most toroid manufactures state the the dual secondaries must be wired in series or parrallel. Is there a problem using a bridge rectifier for each secondary winding to build a bipolar supply like on the DIY universal power supply board?

Hi,
Wiring the secondaries in series or parallel are just regular connections to increase total voltage or current. If you want to build a dual PS using two bridges that configuration it is the best circuit you can implement IMHO. Doing so you would avoid any average current to be establish in the secondaries in case of an unbalanced current output. Doing a center tape configuration and just one bridge you could saturate the transformer under those circumstances.

Triad transformers are wound in China. I use them exclusively as OPTs for tube amps oddly enough. They are fine.
Hammond transformers are wound in Canada and they are of great quality also.

Nope, only the custom industrial transformers are wound in Canada for Hammond. They have a huge plant in Mexico
So, when it says "Made in Canada" is for the label or the cardboard box only then?! E
What are you saying, you bought something from them that said Made in Canada with a recent date code? Of course all their products were made in Canada a few years back.
They still make a lot of stuff in Guelph.
Personally I've never bought anything from Hammond that didn't say "Made in Canada".
