Toroidal transformer suitable for recaping

in future, try understand a circuit before making any changes. It helps to make a note on rail voltages etc.

Good luck with your project.

P.S...replace the first caps on the input of the power amp section if not done already as these can cause issues. 4.7uF IIRC

osscar looks likt the one they use to measure your forehead temperature before entering the supermarket nowadays 😀
StewartH83, I know, I'm learning on my expenses (literally). Can you point out please where they are located physically? I've read you say "The 4.7Uf (usually Elna RE3 IIRC) often goes out of tolerance and can cause issues. Replacing those often restores the original sound FME"

But as this this guys says here at the end Audiolab 8000S repair, "I plan to upgrade the PSU capacitors. They are ELNA 10000 uF/50V, but as the amp seems to be from 1997, they are probably well beyond their lifetime." and I'm trying to do the same assuming those PSU caps are needing a replacement for obvious reasons. Point is do I have to understand a circuit for replacing old worn out caps? And what is basically ELNA caps lifetime anyways?
