Explain to me how it is correct to connect the positive output of a bridge rectifier to the negative rail of the electrolytic filter capacitors?

I don't understand. That drawing is incorrect. And it is used on a lot of websites and forums.

This is the correct drawing, the one shown earlier is probably just an older uncorrected version . I expect the boards are right though....
