Why would that be? I have already accepted that the playing field has been more or less become even. West has been conquered because West has fallen to rest like a fat cat. China has showed what can be done fairly quick by solid "team work" and/but West say "They cheated, the state supported their business". Well....? It's just envy and the uneasy feeling of not being able to fathom what happend. Consumers around the world ripe the results on the alter of low paid labour and butchered environment - but it "develops" China. Within a couple of year these mishaps will be over and the nail in the coffin solidly set.that can be subcontracted from Europe/US
Great - low cost, superb amplification for the fat cats to enjoy ;-)

No I ment that the whole country is behind an effort to grow i.e. the business was not left alone to succeed - the whole "team" was involved i.e. the whole country. Copied or not...
More or less, all development is built upon earlier insights... but to some degree I think thy where "let in" a little to easy - not spying but actually the industry took on persons that stayed for a few years and then went "home" again... thats how knowledge is transferred.

No problem. I am not sure the amp is broken anyway. The protection circuit triggered after a few seconds when I was running sine waves at slightly above 5 W and remained engaged. I tried power cycling to do a reset but to no avail, so back they went.^ OH! I misread / misinterpreted. I thought you meant that the constant / annoying way that the amp went into protection during listening was 'permanent' i.e. never stopped happening. I did not understand that the amp (for lack of a more elegant term) broke. So, it sounds like the protection circuit... didn't protect the amp at all. For some reason now, I recall you mentioning this, and I likely completely forgot. Apologies.
Copies of what? Where are the western Zero 2, Chu 2, B100 and like originals? It appears much more likely that the mainland integrators and manufacturers who spent decades fulfilling orders for western designs woke up to the fact they had the manufacturing and engineering chops to go head to head with their own designs at a fraction of the price without the administrative/marketing overhead.
The accusation in that article is that OpenAI made 'unauthorised use' first, making DeepSeek a copy of a copy. Following the author's own link though reveals the 'unauthorised use' was limited to an actor's voice and nothing to do with technology. That 5 minute read cost brain cells.
I had the B-200’s for a hot minute….they sounded ok! Yes I played them hard. Never went into protection. Got slightly warm…after playing for hours.
My only issue was how they were made….power supply connection & being separate. Heat sinks going the wrong direction ( just me, could be fine)…Easy to return.
I would say price per watt was very good. I would review in the future.
Cheers

If internal, the smps noise would make the SINAD figures worse and the whole thing bulkier…My only issue was how they were made….power supply connection & being separate
Bulkier - yes. Way better in handling - yes.If internal, the smps noise would make the SINAD figures worse and the whole thing bulkier…
And when properly built there is no noise/hum problem.
Imagine having an Atmos setup and you need at least 7 of these for the lower speakers ... what a mess.
^ Yes, but the issue is the actual connection method and the cable vs. the supply being separate. It's junk, IMO, if it's the same quality as on the B100. It looks to be the same type.
3 pin GX 12 Aviation connector, 250V 5A rated, for the B200. ( 4 Amp SMPS)
Limo connectors would be nice but add a fair chuck to the BOM.
Mine sound wonderful anyway despite the horizontal heat sink fins and Aviation connectors.
^ Perhaps the termination isn't the issue, but the execution. I am not sure, but for both my B100s, the wire insulation was exposed and there was no stress relief to speak of. It looked like there was a high probability of it being a failure point. Did mine fail; no. Did it look fairly poor; yes.
Once again... I think they were / are fantastic little amps for what they do.

How does this B200 compare with your Benchmark AHB2?Mine sound wonderful anyway
