024 solation power traffo short circuit testing..
- @3% voltage drop of 7vac on a primary of 240vac, current is 4.2A for a power of 1008 watts...
- @ a voltage loss of 10vac, current is 6.2A for a power of around 1500 watts..
- this is the correct way of testing power traffo capacity, oftentimes current in amperes is quoted, but when asked for actual testing, nothing....
- a 17kg pts used as isolation type will have much lower capacity than and auto transformer type...
- Isolation type pts will have lower capacity than an autotransformer type of the same core weight..
