I will leave it for now since it sounds good. One day I would like to measure them in a echo-free room to see how they really measure. Then if needed I could always put in that extra coil in series to the woofer. Now I will move on to my next project.

Mids are a little too much sometimes on that Nora Jones CD I mentioned before but better after I moved the speakers to the other room direction.

Regardless of how a speaker sounds on pink noise and flat, the engineer that recorded each cd has an EQ curve that throws out the notion of 'flat' on any given sound system. EQ has to be in the chain to undo these personal taste alterations.

Yes it is impossible to get a speaker sound perfect with every recording because of what you mentioned.
If it is rather neutral you got the best chance it will work I guess.

I put my 2 damping panels on the floor tonight where the floor reflection center is and it did something good, it sounds very nice!

That's a sore point for stand mounts indeed, the floor interference thing.

Yes it must be, it really sounds better, and these panels are only 2 inch thick which wont kill that 100-200 Hz cancelation very effective, but other reflections it seem to dampen since I can hear the difference. Better soundstage and depth and detail. I will measure it one evening to see if it also can be measured and just not heard.

A thick IKEA carpet is in order I guess...

Watching your charts, is it only to say that the mids are a bit up or that if the 120Hz was higher, then there is a more natural progression?

well I do not like Ikea that much, the one I have is nicer I think but it is not very thick I give you that. I do not know what is going on but it sounds good. I will be back with measurings but not tonight. And since it is not practical with panels on the floor I can use them only when listening.

IKEA under and your carpet above maybe? Do you like double burger?

That is probably effective but.......Listened at that "hideous" Norah Jones and although I have to listen at a rather low volume (neighbours) I can tell it sounds more relaxed, will it show in measurings to come..........cliff hanger .

What Norah album? The blue one with just her face on the cover?

Face on cover (orange color). "feels like home" is the title.

Ah the one with the shots with the musicians that she has eyeglasses on sitting at the piano with a mic in front of her.
We used both about 20days ago while making and evaluating the Simplistic phono stage revision at a friend's. The other one is better balanced indeed.

Thsi a measuring with 2 panels on the floor. It looks rather similar without panels but sounds better. I think I have found a way to improve this, posting more later tonight.
