I'm short of ideas today.
Do you know how to make (at home) something similar to those beautiful plated vias for double sided pcb's?
I can make my own two sided pcb's but when caps (or other components) are to be soldered, you can't solder on top. No problem with the resistors tough.

Raka,
Assuming that you have considered removing the requirement for plated holes from the areas that have restricted access once the parts are fitted, as a last resort have a look at the link below.

Raka,
There are suitable very small brass rivet caseings one can press thru the hole and solder to the board. Not really necessary to use both halves as the length provides a flange on one side to solder the component. Found them at my local hardware store.

Hello RAka try this link:

They are called wide rol eyelets. And there is a staking tool set below them. It helps to press them onto the PCB evenly.

Here's another system we use at work , for quick via's....
http://www.bungard.com/seiten/p-favorit.htm
The hand press is about 300€...
The dies can possibly bbe used without the press..
they're about 70-80€ each...
rivets about 25€ pr. mille....

Those rivets might be a good item for DIY tube socket on a PCB. No more hunting around for 7 and 9 pin miniatures, novars and octals (to say the least of Nuvistors!).

Hey Jack!
Here to help just ask😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀
I hope that it works! It's a lot cheaper than sockets and for some you listed try finding the little monsters.
