I wonder if Nancy Pelosi has read them all yet, since it was passed several years ago

Shifting control among bureaucrats isn't much of a solution IMO.
I had an ear infection in June. Went to the doctor, got an irrigation, a shot, left with a week's prescription of antibiotics and $60 less in my pocket. No complaints here.

One of the startling things I have found are things like aranesp, glyvec and rituximab, the new hep-c treatments. Things like 3D printing are allowing bio-engineers to design the carcase of a kidney and other organs. The glass is more than half full if the bureaucrats don't get in the way.
I saw my doc just over a week ago; she told be to watch my blood pressure.
...Enlargement of my heart.
Can I diminish its size? ...And if yes how?
Few things I noticed (one of them); I cannot have sex no more without my doc's approval. ...Is that sound normal?

Of what gender persuasion?, you know the Dutch can be "wiley".

What better place.

No jokes intended this time. 🙂
Now that the dust is settling from my Legal Separation/Marriage Dissolution Agreement, I am getting ready to re-finance my house. I'll get a lower interest rate, along with borrowing additional money to do some work on the house. It needs a new roof and I have a couple of trees that need to come down before they do any more damage to the house.
I'm five years out from retirement now, and starting to think seriously about where I want to be then.
One option is to fix up the house and sell it. Then buy another (smaller) house and fix it up.
My current house is 2400sq-ft, and is a bit big for one person (or even two). However it is well insulated, and has a new heat pump, new storm windows and will have a new roof soon.
So another option is to keep the current house and fix it up for retirement. Worst issue with the house is the stairs. The stairs are too steep. Bad design, with no good solutions.
Unless I put in an elevator. The issue with it is that the house is a split foyer to the front door and lower level. So an elevator would have to support multiple stops and both front and back doors.

Curious me, how much is big enough for one person, or two ?
Makes perfect sense if your doctor is also your wife 🙄
I see.

We didn't take X-rays, but I think it's my left side; I can feel it.
* My doc told me to eat the very best food; camembert, brie, pates, French bread, wine, cognac, moose, faisan, ducks, bear, caviar, olives, molasses, ... and climb all the highest mountains that I can reach anywhere in the world, including Everest and K2 and mount Robson. ...Go slow first, and then when on top just jump (paragliding). ...No oxygen; she said that it's not pure like fresh air, that it contaminates my lungs like digital DSP contaminates pure analog audio transmission.
All my life I climbed up and down and I've created forests for pure air on the planet and contributed to a balanced natural ecosystem.
The real rewards are for all of you; that makes me happy.
We do as much as our motivation level. ...And with life's circumstances.
We are the same image as what we all believe together, and so much much more. There are no limits to what we can accomplish on this planet.
And our true valor is measured on a daily basis by what we do today with everything that we've learned good yesterday. ...Physically, spiritually, and accordingly. The only control we don't have is on everything. No one has total control on everything; and the little we might have is still only an illusion.
We live, we die. And between it is the quest. ...And that 'quest', that's what it is all about.
Retirement; anytime is a good time to live stress free and only do the things we love to do in our own free world till the day we die.
We look upon our children's children to reflect and adapt.
Life is more beautiful than all the ugly things reunited all together in the world.
The secret is to not let it go over our heads.
A balanced diet, of the body and mind. ...Every single day is retirement day; what we aim for all our life is right there already in front of us and we are living it. ...Since we were born. ...And till we die.
There are many many languages and cultures on Earth, and all of them are inside each one of you.
I can feel it.

I consider 1400sqft to be enough for 2. As long as I have a basement or garage to work in.
In a cruel twist of fate, I wrote about my previous cancer surgeries 2 posts and 3 weeks ago. In those 3 weeks a fresh cancer popped up from nowhere. Surgery is Thursday.
It has been 4 years since any recurrence, and now I get 5 new tumors. 4 were quickly nuked with topical chemo, but #5 just laughs it off. I have moved 1200 miles, so it's all new doctors in a new state, and a third rate hospital.
Grab all the help you can get from the medical profession but also supplement with alternative healing methods. You will be surprised what a positive mindset can do.
Take care.
That's the problem with my mother's house.. . . Worst issue with the house is the stairs. The stairs are too steep. Bad design, with no good solutions. . . .
She's 92, and rather unsteady even with her walker. She has fallen 3 times in the last year (that I know of); no serious injury, but each time took a hospital visit to verify no serious injury. She's pretty good about using the walker, but inside the house it's possibly more hazardous to maneuver the thing around furniture, through standard-size halls and doorways, than to leave the walker by the door and shuffle around while leaning against a wall.
Her house is one level plus a basement, but she DOES use the basement for laundry, pantry, and a sewing/craft/spare bedroom. I estimate she goes up and down the basement stairs 10 times a week. The stairs probably have a "standard" pitch, but she's no longer a standard person. The larger problem is the miscellaneous steps throughout the house: 3 steps from the front walk to the interior entryway, then one step up from the entryway to the main level. At the back door, 2 steps from the main level to the driveway. One step down from the main level to the "sunken family room". One step from the yard into the garage via the side door. She KNOWS the basement stairway can be hazardous, and takes precautions - it's these OTHER steps that are likely to do her in someday.
She's willing to move into more suitable housing, as long as it's in the general area - but the financial situation is definitely unfavorable. Her house is a modest, lower-middle class or working class home. I'd guess about 1400 sq ft or a bit less. She and my dad bought it in the late '70's, when it was less than 10 years old. Since my dad died in 1991, only necessary maintenance has been done. The place isn't run-down, or hazardous, but everything is worn and dated. The region hasn't recovered from the housing crash, and some acquaintances with real estate knowledge tell me houses like hers sell in the $80K range, when they are in good to excellent condition. My brothers and I estimate it would take about $40K to put it in good to excellent condition.
In the meantime, we four kids help mom as best we can and try to point out ways she can do things without using the steps.

....... You will be surprised what a positive mindset can do.........
This is VERY important. First of all , hospitals can tell you that patients with a positive outlook recover from ailments fastest and also suffer less.
Then ,another point, that sounds weird but has been proven to be true by labs in the US and elsewhere. The 'body' is a living being by itself ! "YOU" ARE NOT YOUR BODY ! They also teach you to 'talk to your body' ! Traditional Yoga teachers ask you to talk to your body BEFORE doing any yoga exercise. In today's world with millions of 'yoga teachers' , many don't even mention this aspect of yoga!
If you check out genome theory you will find that the smallest independent cell in your body is a living thing complete with a brain ! It also responds to your state of mind . Positive minds make the cells more energetic and negative minds make the cells weak and less active. Positive minds therefore help to face medical issues more robustly than a negative mind set.
Try having a 'happy' conversation with your body every morning and see what happens in a week's time !
Cheers.🙂
