Thoughts about retirement...

Thinking of getting a Yamaha YZF-R1; 158km/h in first gear.
I recently purchased a Tahoe T18. 75km/h at 5800 RPM.
Then I don't have to worry about growing old!
I might not either. It depends on my self control and what's in the water ahead of me. A younger set of eyes are in order.
Mid life crisis can be a b!tch sometimes.

Retirement: It all depends on what you do. I retired three years ago and now work full time on my own projects; it's great. This week, I improved my little lathe, worked out where an electrical noise measurement had gone wrong (and how to sort it), got a little more done on a low noise power supply, and ordered my "last" piece of test equipment (LCR bridge that goes to 8MHz). I have plenty to keep my mind busy. But just before I retired, I looked at people at work nearing retirement and wondered what they would do. I've often wondered about a nice red Ducati (200hp at 12,000 rpm), but I'd prefer a Schaublin lathe (2,000 rpm, 1hp, and a bit more accurate than my Colchester Bantam). But to be honest, I'm happy with what I've got. And that's the secret; be happy with what you've got. And if you're not happy with it, improve it.

Mid life crisis can be a b!tch sometimes.
My wife will constantly tell people that I can't be in a mid life, or late in life crisis. This is because I never grew up. I'm just a 72 year old kid. I have said this before, and found it in post #486 here.
Never grow up. When you grow up you grow old. When you grow old you begin to die, so don't grow up. I am a 61 year old teenager.
