70's Music - No offense, but Creative is a very poor brand choice for computer audio equipment.
Yamaha, Turtle Beach, or Terratec offer much better audio equipment.
Of course this is opinion is based more on how the company treats the customers and driver quality.. so take it was you choose.
I'm slowly amassing a small collection of older audio equipment... New stuff isnt worth crap it seems 😉

You might be correct but it is the most expensive sound card out.NVMDSTEvil said:70's Music - No offense, but Creative is a very poor brand choice for computer audio equipment.

"Where am I?"NVMDSTEvil said:The creative Fatality X-Fire? No.
"In the Village."
"What do you want?"
"Information."
"Whose side are you on?"
"That would be telling.... We want information. Information! INFORMATION!"
"You won't get it."
"By hook or by crook, we will."
"Who are you?"
"The new Number Two."
"Who is Number One?"
"You are Number Six."
"I am not a number — I am a free man!"
(Laughter from Number Two.)
It would be fallacy to say any one sound card is the most expensive or that the most expensive is the best.
Not only with sound cards. But almost anything alse.NVMDSTEvil said:It would be fallacy to say any one sound card is the most expensive or that the most expensive is the best.
Looked up your quoted material.. what are you getting at, that you are a mysterious person going by a devious route to obtain information?

Yes it was kind of funny plus i allready had it saved in my favorites. I never heard of a Yamaha sound card!.NVMDSTEvil said:Looked up your quoted material.. what are you getting at, that you are a mysterious person going by a devious route to obtain information?

You see sometimes we tend to jump the gun a bit. I understood exactly what you said and meant about the Yamaha but heres a few notes = For the money you cant touch that little Logitech subwoofer, I conected the Logitech sub to 2x Infinity speakers "since 1 of the original satellite speakers burnt out " while been driven i cant hardly tell them apart as when i use the Marantz to drive the Infinity . Now about the Turtle maybe you are right . Dont forget this whole thing was about building a poor man james bond set up. The Turtle Beach is worth looking into they sell for far less than the Fatality X-Fire. but yes 1 is a Fatality X-Fire. You see the guys above setup ? i dont think the Yamaha well sound better than the system above with a 240 amp PSU.
And while mp3 do have a limitation and is not a original cd recording or a high quality turntable ....If i was to conect the PC to a higher quality setup than the Yamaha well im sure you know the answer. BUT You can cheat with system like the german brother above have. Im just trying to cheat with less equipment. And may i say i doubt few of the regular stuff sold at stores like circuit city or best buy "Onkio etc" can beat my sounds. and to beat the german above is much tougher unless your are speaking of a truely high end system costing far far more money. Our German above is in many ways limited by the speakers hes using. But in term of raw RMS he does have the power. I just pick up a set of Kef Coda III Speakers for $20.00 .
I can really hear the difference in the recording quality when listining through the Ipod. If I listen to the same track on a cd on the RF cd player the difference is amazing. At the moment I am also up grading my Magnat/Autotek amps to 2 Lanzar Optidrives. This should raise the high end by a bit? Still on the search for the right Sub. Maybe just 2 JL 15W6's?
This is not my personal quote but please check it out = Clearly Lanzar Optidrives suck since the parent company also owns Pyramid, Legacy, and PyleMr. Old School said:I can really hear the difference in the recording quality when listining through the Ipod. Lanzar's become a bandwagon bash brand, and that's fine, I guess, but of the 10 or so Lanzar's I've owned or currently own, I've had only one problem, and that was with the 1200D when it first hit the market.
And the two optidrives I've been running for going on 4 yrs have performed perfectly.
Lanzar optidrives are rock solid, and if you can get ahold of an older one - they are considered by many to be among the better amps ever sold. NOT MY OPINION EITHER !.

Thank god that is not your quote. The amps I will be using are the original series way back when they were still made in the USA. But it is true since they were bought out by Pyramid years back they have turned into a joke (Vibe series). But the newer Optidrives are still very well built
I'm currently running one of the last Zed made Lanzar Optidrives and it's a solid amp that makes it's power and more. I wouldn't hesitate to run their stuff. I wish i had one of their old crunch amps. < ....ANOTHER 1.... I FOUND IS 5 AM and i been up since 10 am so anything i say from now on is useless. I only have own Autotek the other stuff was junk . My experience is very limited with car sounds . My other hoobies keept me from going way extreme in auto sounds.
I HOPE no little kids are here.
My last found quote of slight intrest. = First off,you dont know **** or you would have reallized the Tarantula is a class A not a Class D,of course the MOJO will use less current, but he Tarantula will sound better. And the Tarantula was out before Memphis even thought of a 2000 wrms amp.
Also the Audiobahn 2200HC will put out a lot of power, but not what its rated at,it would need more than one 4 guage wire to do that. And of course another rep is going to trash talk Audiobahn, its their job.
And why would you pay tat much for a McIntosh amp or a Butler when you could get the same quality from a cheaper amp, like say a Soundstream or Audio Art or Linear Power or better yet Lanzar OptiDrives?
If youre just going to talk trash, then you dont really need to be here,he simply asked what amps you would pick, not which amp is GHEY,not which amp is the most efficient, and certainly not what does a Memphis rep think of Audiobahn.

Great times in 80's and 90's
Well for me it all started waiting for my buddy to come over to hang out. His brother had a toyota tercel with some kind of system all done by himself. I don't really remember what was in it yet I do remember him driving up my driveway and I could hear it from inside my home.
I do know he had some audiovox eq booster in it. hahah.
So from that day on I waited for my licence which would have been back in 1985. I bought a pimp mobile a 1977 oldsmobile 98 Regency. then i started to work on it.
Then came the stereo.
I did not know much about anything so I went to a reputable local audio shop and bought some stuff.
I remember buying a JVC tape deck for about 350.00 and some JBL 6 x 9's for 250.00 as well as 5 1/4 alpine speakers.
I remember the sales guy that was taking care of me. He said
"what do you want out of your system"? I clearly remember stating that i wanted something clean with a bit of punch.
everything went in and I was happy until the power hunger came out to me.....
I then bought an old sansui amplifier then i bought a sherwood amp and the held me off for a while.
Then I bought a new car in 1998 the stock system held off for about a year or so.
I then had a good job so i could save up and get some good gear.
I then bought a pioneer mx-800 tape player with cd controler, 2 15 kickers and 2 6 inch kickers for the doors as well as 4 8 inch kickers on the back deck.
p.s. i still have my pioneer deck waiting to be installed.
All this was being powered by a Hifonics Gemini vi and a Zapco Z 220 amp.
It was great all was done proffessionally. I was again happy. Then I installed an audio control epicenter as well as a audio control ESP-2. .
I then replaced the 15's for 4 12's behind the seats and ran another Zapco Z220.
this thing rocked and the sound quality was awsome. Then I started competing and wining.
After that i had a wall of equipment in my trunk.
4 zapco amps, eqt's, the works.
Ahhh the days of just going out and listening to great music...
Today I still have most of my old amps mostly Zapco z300's etc.
I have been lucky to find some great deals online, ebay and forums which I would have never been able to afford in the past, these are old school mid 90's amps etc. i'm talking about.
I love that stuff. Hifonics, Crunch, ESX, Autotek, mostly zed stuff.
I'm running one esx amp 4 x 60 watts running 4 interior speakers and tweeters as well as my original 4 8 inch kicker subs and i'm very impressed.
This summer I will be doing my brothers vw with some old school amps and I will not tell him what the amps are or rated at until after he hears them. I'm sure he will be surprised.
Pictures to come....
Keep old school alive.
