This is the DHR.... Dx High Resolution Turbo

Some cameras use.... Canon do not use.

My Fuji one is using... cannot switch off... when have no sound...the audio hissing goes up in volume...this is the compressor working...in the absence of sound it increases the system's sensitivity... also have a limiter to avoid too much saturation...but cannot make miracles... also AGC combined with the compressor.

In my recordings... you will perceive into the Dx Standard for comparison purposes file and HRII for comparison purposes.. i have reduced a little the volume compared to the DHR Turbo recording because i had distortions into the DHR turbo and i was trying to avoid into those ones.. to reduce the difference in quality... i felt the DHR much better than the others... so.... i gave a better chance to the young brothers.....heheheh.. they could not face the big brother...the DHR Turbo.

You may notice some hissing into the audio... because of audio level low and camera sensitivity goes high... part of the system is analogic...so.... there are noises the converter AD had "copied"

Unfortunattelly i have not Precision 1 assembled in my home.

regards,

Carlos

dear Dx,

I am still enjoying the Dx-turbo amp without any problem at all. i just got an oscilloscope...here is the pic. it is 20mhz.

DHR-DX TURBO ..... i'ts now working !

....Hi, folks

.... yes, yes, yes,😀 It's working , and I'am happy now after so many hours spend in labs of DX CORPORATION . I have, added to power transformer, soft start circuit , because every time when I try to start the supply ,all fuses blow-up .First test http://i34.tinypic.com/90yscp.jpg and an larger picture http://i36.tinypic.com/s3cx79.jpg with one box http://i33.tinypic.com/2yufsk1.jpg . It's sound realy amaizing , again an great schematic , no sign of oscillation at all .
Input signal it's not so big , I must attach preamplifier for a biger power output . Offset ajusted to 0.9 mV and bias adjust to read at leads of 0.33 ohm /5W only 2.5-3 mV ,heat sink temperature is 46 dgr C . Thanks , one more time to uncle Carlos for DHR-DX TURBO amp. alex mm.

Sorry for my bad english 😉

Try to reduce your power transistors output current.... 1 milivolt

Will be better... temperature will be even better...will reduce 3 to 4 degrées celsius.... well... this is up to you...maybe you have perceived sound better this way....so....be free... the amp is yours.

You have made my day... thank you very much... i hope made you happy.... open that volume,....i imagine your transformer as able to hold the job... the unit will suck a lot of energy....

Strange those fuses blowing.... maybe very huge condensers charging...or fuse values not very good.. some of them have 10 amps written but burns with less than that... this is something not precise here in brazil... i hope you have better ones...ours use to have 30 percent plus and minus... and even more to some brands... very poor those things here....but in other things we are great!... fuses are poor....but our resistances... the 1 watt ones... dissipating one watt do not turn hot...this is good.

Thank you by the pictures.... the white ballance seems out... a little bit yellow...use your automatic white ballance dear Alex.... your camera is great.

Enjoy...nice sound.....be happy.... uncle is already happy.

Carlos

You can perceive into youtube recordings.... each amplifier have huge differences in

sound reproduction...into instruments they are flat... all them flat...this is the reason why i do not bother with instruments.... yes they are important tools...for sure very needed....but for sonics they cannot tell you too much.

http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Dx+Amplifier&search_type=

DHR turbo, HRII, Precision 1 and Dx Standard have not power on thumps.... only an enormous "TAC!" sound when your power on switch has not the capacitor into the contacts...to absorb transients when switched on...... if you have power on thump... check you input differencial because you may have mistakes there...in special condenser and capacitor values.

Also search for the current and power chart posted..with fuse values folks.... check if your fuse is fine..... here they have worked...i have some for testings... factory fuses, brand new ones.... after testing i use to remove and i substitute them by pieces of wire... air cooled... wires i know the current they can hold before melt.

You may love the DHR Turbo Nordic.... remembers a lot the HRII sonics....but very strong..... really very strong.... Precision is great too...but each one has differences in sound reproduction...and this is what makes our "search for the unreachable perfection" so delicious... always differences.... surprises...good sonics everywhere....this is fine... this is great..... like to born once again...just delicious..very pleasant... a mind orgasm!

Nice speaker Alex mm..... but i do not like that Piezo electric (seems to be...not sure) you may have there.... aaagh!...listen that one (if really piezo electric) alone...only noises!.... the brazilian ones, Piezo is the brand here, (they have a noisy plastic alike coffee plastic pot, the ceramic compound with metal and a transformer inside... aaagh!)... are terrible...the brazilian ones are just AWFULL!

regards,

Carlos

Please friends...enjoy this youtube video

Awsome....very interesting... i cannot stop to watch this movie... i think it reflects our behavior..something to think about.

Are you alike those folks?

Are you different or only the money you spend is different?

Carlos

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Build the DHR Turbo and control the earthquake you gonna have inside your home

People are building in Brazil... this one said sound was alike an earthquake, with beautifull bass...he felt afraid building people to prosecute him, because if he intend to turn the volume all the way up, for sure will broke some window glasses.

Enjoy Dx folks.... it is for free.... quality and reliability guaranteed...just hold your soldering iron and you gonna be very happy.

Here is a picture, another brazilian built the DHR Turbo

This one came from Sergio Vaz... from a nearby town (historical town...world monument) Olinda.... Vaz is portuguese family...there's no brazilian in brazil..we are, almost all of us, emigrant descendents when not native indians.

Cel phone camera...sorry.... he has not a better digital camera.

Carlos

............................................................................................................

If you wanna know, i am building an LM4780 chip amplifier from Peter Daniel (good job this guy made).... very annoyed i am, i will have to produce power regulators... this unit needs 25 to 26 volts maximum to operate into 4 ohms...and the easiest load i have, ready to use, is 4 ohms, two way, speakers.... aaagh... will have to produce an electronic supply and install 1500uf into the supply output not to kill the chip sonics.

I have already listened and built the LM3875 and the LM3866 and several others TDA and STK.... they sound fine, not the best in my point of view...i feel discrete better.... will try this one... why not?

Carlos

Hello Carlos

I did use piezo tweeter from Taiwan for a small bookself loudspeaker, sound ok but never like a good soft dome tweeter, many years ago Motorola was making good piezo.

I did also try Titane dome tweeter, they sound good but with a bit of harshness.

A good Scanspeak, Peerless or Morel soft dome tweeter and you get an excellent sound.

Bye

Gaetan

Yes dear Gaetan... the Piezo electric ones we have here, Piezo is the brand here

Use a dome made with the same plastic material used to those small coffee pots.

I found that some materials sounds higher (level and frequency) and have their own characteristics when you scratch the surface with our nails... and found the sonics have relation with that too... a metal dome sounds very different from a plastic dome... there are ressonances into the material while moving, with vibrating because of sound.

The Brazilian Piezo ones are noise reproducting things...if you connect them without other speakers to feel the gaps of the audio bandwidth, you listen only noises... Piezo (Brand) ones are really very bad.

Carlos

The DHR Turbo is beeing used to make justice

Upper neighboor is producing a lot of noise.... the revenge is to punch bass under his chair while he is listening his favority program (News).

Bass pumping is driven by 400 Watts...hehehehe...into the ceiling ressonating frequency...hehehhee...nice!

Revenge is very sweet..... he is having what he deserves.

regards,

Carlos

Hi Carlos!
Nice to see such a clear schematic that even I can comprehend quickly! (After not having dabbled in amps for 15 years or so.)
The global feedback loop looks quite short, which I like. Reminds me a bit of an amp (the only one) I designed all those years ago. Although mine only did about 100W (yours would do about 400W into 8 ohms, I think?). I did have some current mirrors, whose functions escapes me now! 😉 (God, how one can forget.)
Cheers

Yep.... it is simple, easy to make, easy to build and to design

Also not hard to tune and has room to a lot of modifications.... it is very standard...nothing there is sophisticated, different, too much original or very special... something nice to listen.

Not the perfect one...but can beat a lot of very good ones.

Enjoy Dx Amplifier my friend.... happyness is guaranteed.

You will never sing again the Rolling Stones music:

"I can get no satisfaction"

This one is fine.... satisfaction guaranteed!

Are there others better?

For sure...hundreds are better..sligtly better, but cost to produce or to buy is very high... this is for free, to inject pride into your "self".... no copyrigth, no secrets, nothing to pay...this is the advantage.

All i want from you is to read a thanks...your real evaluation and also i want to be happy knowing you felt good listening.

Good to english purist... can be played without pré amplifier, without tone controls...inject your CD into it and good quality and tonal ballance is fully guaranteed.

regards,

Carlos
