Thiel CS3 - a drop in replacement tweeter for Dynaudio D-28 AF?

Hello
Is anyone familiar what would be the best (or reasonable) drop-in replacement for Dynaudio D-28 AF tweeter (both crossover and mount wise) in Thiel CS3 (Serial Number 1736)
Also (apart from mount) would non-AF D-28 work?

Do you have links to the specsheets for both drivers? That would be a start.

a good tip
just had a look into the parameters, they ain't a drop in replacement. D28 is 2db hotter plus mount is different.

Can't you find the original Dynaudio D-28 AF tweeter?! Are they beyond repair?
In case you need references the Eton 25SD-1, 1" Soft Dome, is a direct replacement. Be aware, I would be suspicious without experiencing or first testing. The Dynaudio is a 28mm soft dome. The Eton is a 25mm. That shouldn't be a problem for a 3 way, plus different Fs wouldn't make here a big part.

They have the same faceplate 110 mm.
Screws will need new pilot holes 3 vs. 4.

If they are a little hotter that shouldn't constitute of a problem, the opposite is true. A small calibrated resistor (matched pair) in series will take care of it.

If those where my speakers I would give a look (or study the possibility of different/interchangeable faceplate) to a different type of tweeter more close to the original.

Today is very easy to make new parts or prototype to spec, in this case a new face plate in aluminum or sound-neutral material of the plastic type.
