I did have a Brit work for me who was surprised by how close to the road houses are around here when they had plenty of land to allow for a longer set back. First snowfall he understood. His other surprise was when we visited a church near Sometset Pa and the snow drifts were taller than his 6'5".

Mr. Toobman, my situation more or less mirrors yours completely, except we got a steep slope, and it was cancer not Covid.
If the going get's tough, add a sprinkle of humour and power on through.
It's tough all around these days, not much to do about that except make the best of it.

Folks in Shaker Hts OH are p/o'd that SH CC won't allow cross country skiing or sledding on the course any more. They had for years, but in recent times the hills and greens were being abused by the outdoor enthusiasts.

It is prestigious. But three blocks away! The downside is they hold a major tournement about every other year. Requires special traffic control. No one would even think of winter sports there. But quite a few parks are nearby.

I used to live on the road that connected the Florida Turnpike to the Inverrary golf course where the Jackie Gleason's Inverrary Classic PGA tournament was held. I learned to leave my car in a strip mall parking lot and walk home on Tuesday through Thursday afternoons during that tournament. That way I could walk to my car the next morning to take the 10 minute drive to work. That upscale golf course closed down this year due to "Covid and declining golf revenue." They will probably plant more condos or pricey houses on that property. There is near zero buildable land left in that county, and south Florida in general.
We were supposed to get a bunch of snow last night, which we did. There was 4 to 5 inches outside at 6 AM, which kept coming all morning. I spent the morning out there cleaning up the driveways, but church was cancelled due to road conditions. About the time that I got that call, the snowfall turned to partially frozen rain. The yard resembles a giant white Slurpee right now. It's supposed to turn to snow again overnight and probably get cold enough to freeze the standing water. Snow fall is expected to continue through tomorrow.

Grand-daughters still upset that they are required to "learn at home" again.
One more edit -- my oldest son is a pilot and has become a weather phenom. Having met many of his peers, I think this class of folk are the most astute at dealing with weather. Just don't get 'em started on it with beers or cocktails.

Until you melt the exhaust valve.
The octane rating is related to the burn time of the fuel. Higher octane fuel burns slower than low octane fuel under the same conditions. Ideally the fuel air mixture is nearly completely burned when the power stroke ends and completely burned before the exhaust valve opens.
Running a fuel with a far higher octane rating than needed can result in a longer burn time and too much heat on the exhaust valve and the exhaust system in general.
I got a neat blue flame out of the straight exhaust pipe on the flathead Briggs and Stratton in my go-kart as a kid when running Sunoco 260, 100 octane gas. The flame was not present on 26 cents a gallon Philips 66 regular.
Several years later my friend discovered that 260 made the exhaust system glow red on his early 60's VW beetle.
My snowblower got a good workout yesterday and today. It does fine on Walmart regular. Kroger gas causes hot restart issues in most of my gas power tools. Neither car seems to mind it though. We use whatever's cheaper in the cars. Both have relatively old low performance engine designs.
Avgas or race gas was good for a good power boost in the high performance 2.2L Chrysler turbo motor that I raced in the late 80's and early 90's. We might have found a friend who worked at a small airport who could hook up up with avgas.....for off road use only of course😀

I don't need a blower, but use benzene-free gas for small engines like lawnmover, aggregate, chainsaw etc. It's more expensive, but engines start immediately after 6 mo standby!

i heard about this event (?)today afternoon at our german radio.
But after this 6 weeks... the spring is going very warm and sunny !
Advance the timing if you run 100 Octane.
