sure, Im very curious to hear your big line array. if they beat everything ive heard, ill also build mine. but Im very reserved concerning EQ/DSP. I do hear serious degradation when the signal is not bitperfect and I use digital VC/DSP/ digital EQ.
I'm bringing back to life that thread because i'm about to make it.
It's gonna be even ''worse'' than what i thought, since we failed every 3 blind tests we made so far, including the one from today (digital to analog converters)...
So basically, i'll use that:
A) Bower & Wilkins CM9 on a A14 integrated preamp/amp/DAC
against:
B) DIY fullrange FR151 on a miniDSP 2x4HD and ICEpower amp, EQ cloning the B&W response.
SPL-matched. Same few music files, from a common source (Mac Mini).
I will not even bother to put them in different rooms, they're gonna sit side by side so we should be able to spot something, spatialisation-wise... In fact, WE SHOULD hear a day & night kind of difference, am i right?
Well, i'm not sure myself, haha... i sure don't expect 100% positive results from every ears.... but let's try it anyway.
