Originally I think it was Ealing and then Elstree studios. If you ever can find Barnacle Bill you will enjoy it. To me one of the last and best in some ways "little guy vs the establishment" Brit comedies.

Last night I watched Man in the White Suit, despite being about the life of a chemist it turned out to be pretty entertaining.

Similarly, "It Happens Every Spring." This movie will be totally non-understandable for Europeans, but Americans and Japanese will enjoy.

I think Rank just absorbed everyone, something about a film that starts with banging a gong.

There was a UHF station (70's) that showed Brit films because they were cheap (some probably without copyright renewal in the US), I have not seen some listed by any of the major studios. There was one about char women taking over the financial markets by reading their bosses trash, hillarious.
