The simplistic Salas low voltage shunt regulator

They can worsen or upset some circuits here with their higher Ciss if not tested as non oscillating substitutions. Proceed but check stability. They will be slower as CCS than 9610 that is for sure. Treble might be better subjectively with 9610.
 
Salas: Is it possible to change the 2SK117GR's & BC550C for something else, and it would be possible to use this circuit up to 90v output? The other transistors seem to take the voltage as far as i can see. Or would there be any other trouble?

There will be thermal trouble. If using slower bigger semis to sustain that, there will be performance loss. For that voltage region, check my SSHV circuits that can go lower than 100-150V with smaller ref resistors or an elevated voltage Reflektor I had shown enough pages back with FBET transistors.
