I'm doing something similar, I've managed to squeeze a standard baby AT motherboard, network and sound cards, CD-ROM and power supply into a standard 1U case (not a 1U computer/server case).

The ISA 90deg angles are DIY, but PCI is a bit more complicated...

It has *no* harddisk (boots from a flash card) and *no* fan (the CPU is thermally connected to the case).

WOW!!! THAT IS SO KEWL!!!
I was originally going to dismantle the CDrom, but then I found that it fitted in as it was.. JUST!! the bottom is resting on the harddrive, the top is resting on the top of the case, and the front of the metal CDrom case is "jammed" between a piece of plastic, and the PCB the buttons are mounted on.. 😛 lol, I tried puttng a different CDrom in, but it wouldn't fit!!! TOO WIDE!!!

You can allways use a Xbox, that is basically a PC, and allready comes in a CD like case.

Just buy a mod chip, and there you go!
Linux in a EX-XBOX! I bet Bill Gates is a bit mad with this hehehe.

Wait! If I had all his $$$$ I wouldn't be mad with anything😀

Consider using PCI sound cards instead, even the crappy ones sound a lot better then their ISA counterparts (unless this is some wacko ISA soundcard).

Also, the heatsink on that Pentium looks a little skimpy, but great work otherwise!

Nah, it runs fine overclocked to 225Mhz in the wooden box (see first post) on a 40degree hot day... 🙂 lol
I wouldn't go higher than 225Mhz.
considering living in Australian Heat..

Maybe here in Sweden, we can overclock upto 250-300Mhz -----

At least in wintertime ..:dodgy: :cannotbe: 😕 😕
