See what I mean nyxflier - you encouage theze guyz and no one show up into Pub because they are having wet dreamz about whisky.... and whiskey..... and moonshine.... and scotch whiskey...... and blended whiskey (ugh) ...... and bourbon whiskey..... and aged whiskey.....
And that's not to even touch upon what sort of mixed drinks you can make with whisky and whiskey.....

The point I thought I had made is that Scotch whisky is is spelt without an 'e' in whisky, whereas Irish whiskey includes an 'e'. That you Merrycouns spell all whiskey with an 'e' just underlines that the Irish have had far more influence in the USA than have the Scots...or any other nation for that matter!!!

Perhaps, my good sir we simply are enjoying the item in question enough to care naught one way or the other.
My doctor banned it because of the medication my cardio consultant prescribed,
apparently the combination is affecting my liver 🙁 maybe if I cut down it will do a Dr Who and regenerate 😀
