Me just opening semantic possibilities by purposely misplacing a few letters here and there still escapes you lot then? Just look at that word again less the er fit part of it.

Maybe just somebody called Ian wanted one of his characters to sound Posh and in the process made a few extra pence (they get paid by the word count)

No Vodka, no ice, no shaking, no stirring. A small amount of Vermouth and add the Gin, self mixing. Olive is popular.

To think that the Bond character made it popular it to think too shallow. The shaken not stirred was a little Fleming poke at society.
 
Two things make my Martinis. Gin to be cold, poored thru ice if not. Never ice in the drink. Vermouth dry (white), not red because that makes it a disgusting Manhattan. Noilly Prat favoured and its enough to let the sun shine thru the bottle on the drink. No shaking or stiring. One mature big olive.
 
Darn I just passed Svejk, the only pub in stockholm that serves chech local brews from barrells. Sometimes there comes a costumed business hipster wannabees there and tries to order Staropramen. Guy behind the bar usually gives them a tired look and says: try 7-eleven🙂. Theyve got sljivo to.
