The Pass Pub: The High-End Off Topic Thread

😀😀

.....two brain cells ... and in the Navy??? Let me guess which one is you.....

😛😛😛

But of course the Irish Navy is no better...they wouldn't even enlist me! Said I had too many brain cells ----- and that I was too mouthy for my own good!!😡😡😡

I still had some brain cells when I went into the Navy - but doing things that Sailors do when ashore - well - that's where I lost of a lot of them at. Bloody buggers went AWOL - never to be seen again.....

I have contacted some mates in the Irish Navy and informed them that you are supplying free beer at your place tonight. They are on their way over now.... :Pirate:

OK - ya kids have left me alone without adult supervision again. Thus I have been thinking about things all by myself. This of course is never a good thing. Here is what I have come up with for the dangerous thought for the day.

Papa (and crew) wuz kind enough to host an "Amp Camp" a little while back, where they showed some folks how to build some amplifiers that actually work - and not electrocute or burn themselves with soldering irons in the process.

I'm thinking that the Dummy's hanging out at "The Pub" are missing out on an opportunity here. To my way of thinking (ummmm - take that az a bad thing) Dummy amp builders need camps too!!!

Sooooo - we neeeeeed a Dummy Amp Camp!!!!

Dummy amp camp = how to totally destroy an amplifier in 30 seconds or less.

There is only one way to properly build an amplifier and get it to actually work.
There are thousands of ways to screw things up that can result in the letting the magic smoke out, thus a potentially much larger audience of participants….. I can personally vouch for this fact, thus who better to learn from than those such az myself and other Dummy’s at The Pass (it around) Pub?

Let's smoke sum amps!!!!! 😀😀😀

Don't ever fall for that "only two brain cells" mularky from 2c2! That man has just achieved the most remarkable logistical exercise!! Hats off to him for he has just - at long range - arranged the party which he threatened. At 20 hundred hours a large detachment of able bodied Irish sailors arrived at my home.....just as promised. 🙂

Had a great evening and early morning as a result of the arrival of about half of the Irish Navy. This was as a result of the kindness of 2C2 in being thoughtful enough to issue them with an invitation to ‘drink their fill’ at my place.

I dusted off my collection of Irish music, started with jigs and – naturally – Hornpipes. (That made them really thirsty) and progressed through the full list of all things Irish ending with the maudlin rebel songs and even Count John McCormick’s beautiful rendition (not a la CIA) of “She Moved Through the Fair” played from the original wax cylinder…..It really took me back to my young days!😀😀🙄

What I have not told you as yet is that the Irish Navy has had somewhat of an image change since they shared information on rainfall patterns with the then much younger 2c2. The jolly sailors – and my were they jolly – were all female and had just been in for pre battle maintenance…..their water wings (where needed) had been re siliconed, camouflage waxed, and full warpaint freshly applied. They were to a man (shurley shom mistake? But that’s Navy language after all!) - as it were – exceptionally appreciative of the party which was provided on such an ad hoc basis. Too many of them – eighteen to be precise – expressed their gratitude in an exceptionally warm and physical way. A few more attempted to do the same but I am afraid that at my advanced age I was no longer capable of accept their kindnesses….but I did try, oh God how I tried. I suggested another party this evening and have promised that the last shall be first. What have I let them in for!!!:hypno2::hypno2::hypno2:

So the point of this post is to thank Thomas for his thoughtfulness in arranging this great treat. ….. the Irish Navy Girls reckoned that they had never been through such a range of man-euvers in all of their service life.

Here are pics of a couple of the really appreciative guests!

Thomas...I can never thank you enough!😉

This explains why we didn't see much of you around here yesterday evening - you were a busy boy!!!

Please tell them for me that I think they are doing a smash up job of things.... Hasn't been a Spanish armada seen around for a very long time now. Or French for that matter....😀😀😀

ya made a mistaka , mentioning da Van

I'm listening entire eveninga ........

:devilr:

I would send ya some crack Irish Sailors - but I think that Brian haz 'em tied up at the moment..... 😀😀😀

Da Van used to perform at clubs around the S.F. Bay area for many years waaaaaaay back when I still hada pony tail, and I wuz able to catch hiz magic act there. Magic Act? Well yes. Ya take a girl with you and "poof" her panties disappear!!!! 😀😀😀

Da Van was once upon a time a neighbour of a friend of mine. Another friend played lead guitar for him and that guy's brother produced some albums for Da Man.

ZM...as usual...got the drift correctly! For modern stuff the Irish Sailor Girls seem to prefer the likes of Eynia and any form of C&W!! (Also dusted off some original Jimmy Rogers and even Scruggs & Flatt). I must get back in there again....I only came out of the maul for air and a shower!😀😀🙂

Dis iz a good thing - fresh air and a shower. We don't need you smelling like a Dodo dinner in a couple of dayz....😀😀😀

I wonder where the other inmates are at - it's been quite around here lately and it's not even the weekend. Maybe I need to take a shower? 🙄

More like I need to shut-up and go over to your reading table...
