Enlighten

Guys that offer kits make money, that's called commercial enterprising.

There are several bills of material for the FW designs floating around here, a couple of minutes copy and paste on the Mouser/DK pages.
Several sources for sets of matched JFETs, or matched MOSFETs, are active on diyA.
Complete case/heatsink packages can be ordered online with an email and a payment, takes a few minutes of your time.
Leaves you with waiting for the parts to arrive, then the real work follows.

If that's way too much trouble, then it's how you describe yourself, you're a lazy *** bum.

ps you've already said that you can't be bothered to learn and that you prefer everything handed to you on a silver platter , so your statement is kind of contradictory .

I understand your point. The "can't be bothered to learn and that you prefer everything handed to you on a silver platter" statement is conjured up in your imagination. I am very much willing to learn, and have, and will continue to be regardless. Your idea of a "silver platter" is my idea of learning. Does it matter how one atttempts to achieve their goals? Is there a hierarchy in DIY learning that I am not aware of? Why is there an impression that one does not repect a designers talents...because they are not doing things in the "right" way? Is there a measurement of respect intrinsic to DIY? Please upload the respect curve so I can further enlighten myself on these parameters.

cheers

thanks, and you keep thinking that.

aptquark:

Nelson "Papa" Pass has not only allowed others to see the schematics of, and build his designs, but has made special designs just for people like us DIYers, such as the Burning Amp series. He also helps people who want to build or modify his designs. He is a huge contributor here, and it would be more than fair to say that diyAudio wouldn't be what it is today without all his help.

From what he has written (and this is my understanding) his wish is that companies don't copy his designs or make kits as he has said that cheap knockoffs affect the value of his products, especially if the Pass name is attached to them (which it invariably is), and retailers squawk about this and then don't want to carry the products.

Sometimes he gives permission to certain people to sell certain things, such as circuit boards, but to my knowledge has never allowed a complete kit. If he doesn't restrict anybody from making knock-offs of his products, then everyone can make knock-offs,

So it's not about "paying your dues" that we don't allow kits, its the request of a very very valuable member of this organization making a very reasonable request, considering what he has contributed here.

And there's a simple solution that's already been pointed out- If you don't have time, buy a First Watt amplifier. Easy. If you don't have time or money, well, life is tough I guess. Since a Pass amps isn't your first choice anyway, why not order one of the various kits on the market for other amp designs such as Aspen Amplifiers? A Google search will turn them up..

Please don't make any more insulting posts or you'll be spending time in the bin

Your comment makes sense....but I disagree on YOUR subjectivity regarding "hard". Maybe some subscibe to the all or nothing mantra of DIY blood, sweat, and tears...and more blood...etc, but I personally dont have that much time. MANY DIY'ers dont have that much time. I am not an engineer...nor do I want to be one. There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to purchase a DESIGN (free to the public for that matter) that has been put together in a completed kit form.

Those who cannot fathom such a peon idea...and feel a need to quantify, qualify, and reduce DIY to their own subjectivities...are welcome to do so without abstructing anothers ideologies.
...for heavens sake...

Zen Mod, I kindly ask you to release all your jokes in a kit form, because they are scattered all around forums, some of them are illogical or not understandable (what does "Fugly" really mean? 😀

I even know what his fugly means.

Its like the oscar award...of compliment.

Only problem with ZM is that its like trying to talk to Stephen Hawkins...but you need subtitles to understand WTF he's talking about.

heh....😀

thanks to everyone for explaining the obvious to me. Now I just need to hide the part where I said <cough>...NP's stuff would not be my first choice.

BULLSHLAGEN!

I would eat that stuff up in a heartbeat if I could.

Oh not to worry - some of us have done much worse than you. That's one reason why I sit over at my reserved space at the dummies table. Jacco has the honorary seat at the head of the table for the rest of the year after attempting self amputation of finger digits.... ZM - well he is so full of [fill in the blank] that it would take a lifetime to explain him - but by then he would have morphed into something else all over again - so there is no use in trying to put that puzzle together - accept it for what it is and who he is. :worship: If you should actually start building anything Papa has blessed us with ZM can be very helpful because he knows much and haz a very big heart. 😎

Luv it ZM - here iza big smooooooch for you!!! :xeye:

BTW - I am sure that Papa confirmed that I am biggest dummy when you spent time stealing all of those brochures from him during BAF 2011.
