I had this feeling today. The world is going forward. Inbetween horrible stuff in Syria etc and economical crises here and there... I had that feeling. We are going forward.
The reason was that I had a vision of a new market area. That of open source.
Why is that? Well. I am a long time overdue manager of different developer organisations. I have been doing that for to long and soon to be 20 years.
The things I have grasped, even though I have been entuastic about bleeding edge technology at the companys I have worked for, is that we will always define ourselves in the backwater of someone else.
And who is someone else?
Well someone else in system engineering or software developement is always THE ENTUSIASTS.
And who are they? Well. They are not companys. They are not governments. They might be porn industry. They might be gaming industry. Or something likewise. But they have something in common.
They use Open Source Force and they do it well. Compare any big software companys developers department to 10s of million enthusiasts.
They dont stand a chance.
I can see the developement of this over other sectors. Media is one. Adept or die. I can see it in other markets to. Even physical. If you dont invite THE MARKET, to help you develop THE MARKET, you can fish in backwater forever.
Well heres my point. DIY-market/guys/girls: Defining yourself as refiners of marketstuff is over. You rule the market. Traditional actors is doomed to backwater fishing.
We belong to a new and beautiful generation that re defines market rules. I dreamt this.
(I wrote this silly message because today I was with my son at some tests for dyslexy or not. I came back to work, participating in high level meetings, and my conclution is that it has nothing to do with anything, the world is beautiful as it is and progress has nothing to do with conserving stupid beleafs. I am glad the world is no longer ruled by white elder males with a conservative idea on anything. It is ruled by the colour of everybodys engagement and strive. And I love that.)

You are correct. That is Elke Linkwitz, an extraordinary woman. The picture is from BAF founder's diner we had a few years back. We had such a great time together. Siegfried and Elke are really pleasant and warm couple, and it is always pleasure seeing them together during Burning Amp. She is always there helping Mr. Linkwitz and I cannot tell you how fortunate we are to have them support our small Burning event. It is always pleasure seeing people that are enjoying so much each other, as well as what they do. That energy radiates!
last year (at BAF) Mr. S. had one of brightest and most sincere smiles around , while Mrs. E. had pair of most vibrant and penetrating eyes around
