Don't those Sony VFET's on Ebay use funny bias voltages?
I can't seem to get the datasheets on them, but I think they are biased to something like -20V.

I'd be curious if Jacco or ZM had an opinion on a decent commercial integrated amp, solid state, discrete, phono input with a balanced input. Good guys, hard not to hit them up for a recommendation now and again.
Okay, not many of those around, so I would settle for just a solidly designed integrated, with that stuff as a nice to have.
Speaking of which, anyone happen to know what's in the Classe' CAP 151? Just a basic description, that's all I'm looking for... Is there OP27 in the preamp, like the 100?
I want to simply things... will be using Lowther TP1 corner horns.

Double the number of output devices, bump up the rails by 10%, swap OPA2134 for the OP27, voila, a 100 year old turns 151.

Shhhhhhh - keep it down!!! I have little Robin's nest in bathroom window. Very cool cause when Mama is gone I can look into the nest from about 6 inches (15 cm) away. It was hard to take a photo of the inside of the nest - the glass in the window is distorted. This is sorta like having my own science lab right above the tub that has all of my rubber duck's floating in it. 😎😎

Jacco, any idea on the phono card the Classe uses? Probably a simple opamp job?
An integrated amp with a phono stage included is somewhat of a contradiction in terms, imo.
Value/$, i'd think it 's hard to find better than one of those (Limey bstrd) Topaz AM10.
Personally i'd rather pick a line-only integrated that suits me, and add the phono stage myself (opposed to paying a factor 10 leverage on optional plug-in modules).
Or buy a second hand one, and upgrade the P-O-Sheet, you even gave a fitting example.
As this still is PL playground, the INT-150 and -30A are likely genuine audio-grade integrateds since the power VFET years (imio).
Latest for the regular series Canoe-OKs >>

Robin nest update: 3 eggs - Mama is sitting on them - soon will have little baby Robins!!! I considered using eggs for Sushi garnish - but SWMBO provided me with female persuader (better known as cast iron frying pan)- well let's just say that the eggs are still safe in da nest... 😉

Our Robins are a bit different from the Euro Robin - in fact if I remember from living in England - I think the Brit's put in a couple of vowels in odd places - something like "Robioun".... 🙄 - and they most likely have a tea break - and of course Mum is home taking care of the brood while Pop's is off to the pub playing darts (bird version - seeing if they can poop on your head). 😱
