I'm at downhill as well, just well before you.
I listen to it on my crappy old Lenovo T61, I need to change its defected crappy speaker to a better one, yet this song, this performance calling unhideable teardrops in my eyes.
True sound and art could came accross even crappy devices.

I was just chillin’, reading diyAudio threads while listening to my system… And a familiar song just GRABBED me.
This isn’t the last word in recordings, but for whatever reason, it sounded so enveloping and engaging just now.
My twiddling of things may have worked out for now.

Current system chain is:

• RPi running LMS and piCorePlayer
• MiniDSP Flex Eight
• Scryer
• Open baffle three-ways of my own design
• [Bonus enjoyment provided by a successfully crafted dinner paired with tasty libations]

I’m being an ebullient evangelist of this hobby and forum again this evening.

Have this old JVC A-X4 amplifier from my mother. It has some seriously crackling potentiometers and switches.
I'm in doubt, dismantle it, for some nice components, 2 x 2SK147BL. Or restore and sell it... prices are low...
Any suggestions? Was Super-A something special? It is of 1980, so 43 years old 😛
