The Pass Pub: The High-End Off Topic Thread

without all dirty details
we shall no forgive !

:devilr:

New toy has arrived. It will double as a TV antenna stand. 🙂

The XA25 is very compact and relatively light as these things go. It's probably
the lightest amp in the Pass Labs line up since the Aleph 3.

The binding posts require you to thread the wire through a slot. I can
see difficulties with some speaker wires. The knob tightens down very easily.

There's no printed manual with the amp, so what you've seen on
the PL website is it.

From the top I can see the hockey pucks...no I can't make out what
they are.

In preparation for its arrival, I recently built an Aleph-J, so that my
membership in the fraternity of fearless amplifier builders will not
be revoked... 🙂

Hows the stretching going?

What made it necessary?

[A friend had screws in his skull and had his neck stretched (Continuously) for 12 weeks...he had fallen off of a horse and suffered an impact fracture whereas I have only had mild traction...quite pleasant in a way]

Thanks for asking Brian. The traction was excellent and I'll be doing it once a week for 3 more sessions, starting Monday.
What made it necessary?
Cal, the walking train wreck, has hurt himself many times in that region. Now that I am older, it doesn't fix itself like it used to. This time was installing a new, rather heavy toilet.

Something out of a horror movie, your friend. Hope it was successful in the end.

Great song but the translation doesn't seem like to flow as smoothly as the original did. It seems choppy. Is this right?

I don't feel that it would be so.
The translation is perfect and artistic, and it gives back meaning of the original absolutely, I think.
It was created by the artist's younger brother, Dusán Sztevanovity.
Dusán has got a number of awards, I would mention the last one from 2016:
Zsolt Harsányi prize:

"This award is for a worthy actor, playwright, theater journalist, theater ritic, scenic author or director may receive during the season who has done the most to cultivate the Hungarian language."

It is quite interesting, if we know, only five or six years of age he learned properly in Hungarian.
It is because they are Serbians, living in Hungary since 1948.
Now, Dusán Sztevanovity is one of the most renowned song lyrics author in Hungary.
They were founding members of band Metro, that was one of the most important ones in Hungary in the early sixties, besides Illés and Omega.
Today is Zorán Sztevanovity's seventy fifth birthday!

Happy Birthday, Zorán!
