I haven't heard these yet but will be hopefully building some soon.
Does anybody know of any UK based sound-system's running these at the minute.

Does anyone have email from Josh Ricci? I have built Othorns and would like to thank him for the great design.
Many thanks, Ivan
Many thanks, Ivan
hi Josh - thank you for sharing the plans with us. would you kindly send me the SLDDRW and PDF prints to my email ( rian.adamian@gmail.com ) when / if you have the chance? thanks, i hope you're doing well.If anyone wants the plans for this cab I have a cnc type Autocad print made up as well as a SLDDRW print and a PDF print of the cabinet plans. It should be enough to build it or adapt it for your own needs if anyone has a need of a cabinet like this. You will have to pm me your email address as the prints are too big to attach here.
Additionally there are other drivers that should also work very well in this cab.
TC Sounds Pro5100

18Sound 18NLW9600
18Sound 18W1000
B&C 18NW100
B&C 18SW115
B&C 21SW150
B&C 21sw152-8 (8 ohm version looks ok, but not as good as the 4 ohm.)
Beyma 18SW1600ND
Faital 18XL1500
Faital 18XL1600 (This one doesn't look as good as the 1500 but it could be a new model.)
Fi Car Audio BTL N2 18d2 ( It does not look as smooth as some of the others and it is a little less sensitive, but excursion would never be an issue with its 30mm xmax and 40mm xmech. Might be worth trying if someone is crazy enough.)
When the subs are complete I will do a full outdoor ground plane test session on them. That will be a few months from now though.
Heyy maxolini, at the moment I run othorns with b&c 21sw152-4, martin audio 215mk3 and PM90Hey phanthom will you share your setup details

Hey folks, have been doing a mountain of reading recently on the Othorn. I know this is an old thread but I would love to get some of the plans or a metric cutsheet if possible? I know there are heaps of posts pointing people toward the Data Bass forums but I've been getting SSL handshake errors every time I try to access the forum over the last couple of weeks. Thanks for any and all help 🙂
Hello peedub,I would love to get some of the plans or a metric cutsheet if possible?
There is a plan available in this website https://freeloudspeakerplan.rf.gd/?i=1
You can fine tune and add as much dimensions as you need to build you box, metric or imperial units, it's just about settings in FreeCAD.
Thanks @LORDSANSUI , that's great, appreciate it. It looks like I've got some CAD learning ahead of me 😛

Hello,
You can start from a model that is more simple, to better understanding the tool, TH-OThorn is little slow model due to the amount of constrain. If the driver you planning to use is different from the original design you can make some fine tuning adjusting the model to improve the response for your case, if needed or change aspect ratio for any reason.
Thanks mate, I don't mind diving in and doing the learning. I would most likely be using the B&C 21SW152 driver, but still figuring out exactly what I want from the system. I think it's the age old question of do I build 4 Keystone's vs 2 Othorn's 😛
Leaning towards the Othorn for the 30hz response, I'm aiming for the system to play a fair amount of dub / dubstep / jungle, alongside some dub techno / techno / deep house stuff. I've been doing a lot of reading over the last few weeks and from what I've seen I'd rather sacrifice a little bit of SPL to get the extra bottom end. Now just need to decide which tops to pair them with, and start making some sawdust

Going such low end you may need to go 4-way system.
