- Japanese NPC SM5847 over-sampling and filter chip.
- Eight Burr-Brown PCM1704K D/A converter chips, four per channel in parallel for single-ended output, two per channel in parallel for balanced configuration.
- Twelve Burr-Brown OPA627 chips for I/V conversion and low pass filtering.
- Four Russian EH6922 vacuum tubes with gold plated pins for output amplification.
- Clean electric power from a separate power supply.
- Famous Philips CDM-4 transport.
- lattice LED display screen with INTELLIGENT DISPLAYS technology.
- Three point support of the best kind.
- Multiple anti-vibration construction to isolate the transport mechanism.
- Custom-made aluminum alloy chassis, built with meticulous craftsmanship.

That is just drop-dead gorgeous!!! Too bad they made it to just play old 78 RPM slate records. 🙁

When SACD and competing formats finally settle down, I'd like to buy whatever the accepted new hi-res format is and I want the player to look like this!

I wasn't very impressed with the original Shanling player, again it looked nice but my Modded Arcam trounced it for sound quality

Yes Leon, and one more thing: people that listened to it say that the sound was better through the SS output (OPA2604) than through the tube output.😀

Well it got trounced using both SS and tube output.
After the guy in the shop laughed at the sight of my old Arcam the smirk was soon wiped off his face when he heard it :devilr:
He knew he wasn't getting a sale that day
