They are roughly following the same path that Japan, Korea and China did.
Lots of Manufacturing being moved to Vietnam, reason being it´s currently cheaper than China, and at the beginning that means low wages, so relatively low standard of living.
But as production and sales increase, salaries and quality of life steadily improve.
Check again in 10 years and you´ll probably be surprised 😛
I am happy for them, but I am not sure I have ten years 🙂()
