Yes, many of the drivers of yesteryear were higher impedance. Nice score at that price. They originally came on the Pioneer MH300 horn and probably others. Too bad they were missing. 🙂
I now have the first round of 10 photos and will be posting them back into the thread later today. A big thanks to our hero who saved these photos for us!![]()
LOL I'm not a hero. Here's what happened. We had a bad storm here. Utility poles were down for over a week. I needed my diyaudio fix, so I made a mug of coffee and drove to the local McDonalds. Being on a main road they had power AND internet. I didn't even have to go in, I sat in the truck and downloaded thread after thread. I could down load 4-5 hours of reading for the night in the time it took to drink my coffee.
I would spend the nights listening to the battery operated system I learned to build here and read the threads I downloaded.
Thank you for allowing me to give back.
Well done & thank you to Darkstar52
DIYAudio is up there up there with caffeine & nicotine! I wonder if you can get DIYAudio patches?
Pano, these build pix might help me with another little project.......😉

I would really appreciate a copy of the spreadsheet for making the template for the horn. The job was outstanding and I would be glad if mine turn out 1/2 as well. Please send a PM to me and I will respond right away. This forum never ceases to amaze me at the members creativity and enthusiasm in all things audio. Happy listening. Regards Nick
Hi there. Did you ever get the spreadsheet for to horn profile? I would love to get a copy if I could. Could you please send me one if you have it. Please and thanks. Nick (audiowackjob@gmail.com)

I got your PM Nick. Sorry I do not have the spreadsheet. I sent all the pictures I have to Pano for reposting.
Thank you Pano.
I finally got the spreadsheet if anyone wants to PM me I will be happy to send it to them. Cheers
Digging trough the top rated threads I stumbled across this awesome build.
Looks like a fun project! Glad to see most pictures were recovered.
I wonder how many of these DIY multicells were build. Great stuff!

Hi,
Couple days ago I was listen multicell horns and liked sound depth from them. I do not know much about horns, so I have question. Is it posible to build upperbass multicell horn? I mean 125hz 4" throat with back chamber for 8" driver. Is this could work?
Regards

I don't see why it would not work. It will be big, though. For 125Hz usable it may need to be ~2M wide.
Is there any calculator for multi cells? 2m wide is not a problem, but what will by with lenght?

Sure, though probably mostly a waste of time without a proper phase plug, filter chamber though.

Thanks petter
Very nice horns you did, would you give out the measurements to cut out the wings?
Why did you not make the altec horn?
i myself have such horns and play them with Altec 802D, down to 500Hz, and below Tannoy Monitor Gold in Lancaster Cabinets provide the bass

Petter, your horn construction is incredible! I have always wanted multi cells, but
can't afford what they get for them on ebay. This would be a wonderful winter
project for me. Are all the specs contained in the pictures or do you have some
measurements that are needed. sure could use all the help I could get. rustirich
