I'm actually considering using this IMG stageline SPA-10PA as a substitute. Parametres are pretty close (Vas is a little lower). I haven't quite figured out how you get WinISD to spit out the exact tuning frequency or the exact cabinet size, but I plotted the data from the datasheet into WinISD and chose 24,4 L box size with 2 speakers in it and a tuning frequency of 82 hz. This is what came out:
Looks pretty neat? As far as I know you want 4+ dB rise at around 130-140 hz, yes?
And the price is pretty decent too.... Not like the HP-10W (close though), but I'm worried that I won't be able to finish it before the festival if they get them back in week 23. Anyone want to comment on this?

How about the very expansive P.audio S10-64W? In my very untrained eyes it looks if anything like a beater choice. It would probably demand some smaller design changes.
Im in a desperate need for some speakers to my build so Im in for anything.

Its doesnt take THAT long to build.. I spent around 2 days for the woodworking part.. What took the longest was getting a nice finish and playing around with the electronics..

If price is no option, you should go with the P.audio SN10MB series II those are the ones Saturnus recommends for his signature version and are audiophile quality.. However, quite expensive..

Cant finde those in stock anywhere that delivers to Sweden, have you seen those guys?
on another note, can you use AMP6 with speakers connected to only one channel or do it take damage from that?

It's also because we can't know for sure if they get them in week 23. At least I wouldn't count on it. So that's why I'm looking at this alternative.
Ljudia states that they will get them back in July/August.
I'd rather have something than nothing
Okay here's a screenshot of a comparison between the HP-10W and the SPA-10PA. I'm gonna order this now. Not much of a difference between them (at least not in WinISD)

Starts to feel like Im spamming this thread but i still have some questions.
The AMP6 is out of stock and no one knows when it will be back. Do you think that SURE´s amplifiers would do the job in the boominator? For example they do have a 2x25W model 2 X 25Watt Class-D Audio Amplifier Board - TPA3123 (AA-AB018)_Audio Amplifier Boards_Audio Amplifier and other Audio Boards_Audio, Video Equipments_Sure Electronics' Webstore
the also have a 2x100W model but Im afraid it will eat up the batteries to fast.
Any input on this?
And if you go with the SPA-10PA, what would be the piezos choice?

I also have a few more questions for my boominator.
How big and long should the bass reflex port be, and what grills are the best for the hp-10w?
Links are very welcome. 🙂

So the HP10Ws, tweeters and amplifiers for the boominator is all out of stock now? 🙂
The great boominator-boom of 2011 is here?
This will probably work as a substitute for the amp6,

Problem with SP-10A is they start to roll off at 2.5KHz so you can't use them with piezos.
Can't I just use another piezo that will go that low. E.g. there are a lot of piezos that go down to 1800 hz. They don't sound great in that range but at least you would have the area between 3000-4000 covered, right?

The reflex ports are integrated in the design. It's the handles.

Yes i know, but i allready have som good handels i would like use, and therefore I need reflex ports like on Phaedras boominator..

Those need to be some large piezos then. But it'll actually be better to use normal tweeters instead of piezos in this case.

What do you mean large? This one is freaking huuuge. Dimensions are 188 x 80 x 107mm
I feared you would say to use normal tweeters. That will also make it more expensive.
Just received these sad news,
"we received a new delivery date for the P.Audio HP-10W from german disributor. The woofer will now be in stock at mid of July. Unfortunately we have no chance to get them earlier. How shall we proceed?
Best regards

Those might work. 1800Hz is a tad optimistic though but they might reach down to 2.5KHz.
