The Aleph-X

Brian,

Are you stealing:masked: the IRFP 240’s from your Aleph 2 or did you get more?😀

Rodd Yamashita

Exactly... my two Aleph 2 chassis and IRFP240s are now becoming one stereo aleph 5, and one stereo aleph-x... If I decide that I need a more powerful Aleph-X, then I will just ditch the Aleph 5... I have the boards mostly done, and the transformers, but I haven't decided what I am using for capacitors yet. I got my Aleph 2 transformers reworked to 4x12.5 and 4x15, both 1kVA also.

about heatsink

maybe this information is useful to some guys
in china the heatsink (30*35*5cm) is $45 , RMB450yuan.
some rough stuff has even lower price. only $30.
but it is also expensive to chinese. maybe it is so cheap to outside china.
for building alpeh-x , i bought 8 pieces of heatsink , all cost my
salary of one month.:bawling: but i think i will forget this after
completing aleph-x.😀
specially thank BrianGT for your pcb file.

Oh yeah!!

For Europeans I recommend using the one that I used for my Zen R but in 100 mm length which is KS300.6 from Austerlitz which reaches 0.3 C/W already at 100 mm length and has slightly longer fins than the R-Theta. If you like 9" then KS216 from Austerlitz which is the same as SK 102 from Fischer is almost the same measures as the R-theta:

Really thank you😉

You made me realize how lucky I have been..
Just got 2 of these KS300.6 for FREE😎 400 mm long each!!

I'm jumping on my chair for happiness... maybe I'll be able to make some photos in a few days..

Cheers

Digressing slightly, now that a lot of the crap has died down, it's time to convince Grey Rollins to come back.
Digressing? Not at all!
All about the DIY Aleph-X began with Mr. Rollins and without him (and of course You Mr. Pass and all the other great guys which have contributed so much ) all this could not have happened.
Yes, please come back Mr. Rollins!!:wiz:

Yes I do want Grey back too.
I - although sometimes had an argument with with him - always liked his personal posts, insightful and sometimes over the top with philosophy, literature etc. Great.
And he btw. wrote longer posts than you, Nelson...
