The Aleph-X

Wiki on Current and Voltage

Grey

I posted a wiki in the "Basics" under DIY Guides heading with your explaination on volatage and current.

If anyone feels like expalining diodes, resistors and capacitors, please feel free to edit the wiki. I created the pages, but all you have to do is hit edit at the bottom to edit the text.

thanks,

Vince

Grumble, grumble, cuss, cuss...
Me no like blankety-blank Wicked.
Phrases such as "It'll only take five minutes," "All you have to do is...," and "I'll only take up a few minutes of your time" are like icebergs--what's on the surface doesn't look too bad...it's what lurks beneath that ruins your day.
Vince,
Feel free to cut and paste anything I've written that you think is worth a toot. It's just that I've still got a bad taste in my mouth from when I tangled with the Wicked trying to get into the Lovoltech buy, yea these many moons ago.

Oh, I hear yeah. I took me a while to figure out how to create a new page. When I see something at the novice level worth entering, I'll do it. I always give credit where credit is due. So no worries.

Consider me the patron saint of the newbie DIYer.

Incidentally, if you want to cram an explanation of a current source (something that always seems to drive folks crazy) in somewhere, I've tackled that at least twice--once for you, as it happens. I will hereby attempt to post links to the two explanations. There's some unavoidable overlap, of course, but sometimes a slightly different wording makes all the difference in the world.

Now, if I did that properly, you should be able to access the two posts in question. Do with them as you will, but if either or both of them suit you, it'll save me from having to write something from scratch.

CCS Explaination

Both CCS explainations are now cut and pasted into the Basics Wiki area.

I'm also going to find your simple active crossover threads and post them on the loudspeaker section as well They are very good little circuits.

thanks,

Vince

Concerning PCB's.

I just designed new PCB's and ordered them. It seems that a lot of people want to build this beautiful amp, so I ordered 20 extra.

I plan finish my own Aleph monoblocks (15,7V, 7A) at the end of May. When the boards do what I want them to do I will offer the extras them on sale in the groupbuy section. Ofcourse at cost!

I designed them in three PCB's, two long ones that hold all the Mosfets, and everything that goes with them, and a separate pre board. That way I start with the original Grey Rollins design, and when it is functioning, I can change out one small PCB to go to J-fet design. (although I am hoping to use a variation on the Cheffdegaar UGS design)

So when you lucked out at the offers until now, in a few weeks you get another shot...

Happy building, Harry
