Interesting observation even for me, a non-native English speaker.
So, I've re-listened to the song several times and it seems to say "Kansas City West", although I don't think Greg Lake actually really says that way since I'm guessing he just cuts off the "in the" for usual reasons of musical metrics.

A quick search of the lyrics shows that both ways are reported in a similar percentage on the Internet.
Kansas City West does not seem to exist at all, even if it really is in the Middle West.

Thanks, your reply sparked something entertaining and informative.

When I said I've always heard Kansas City West, I didn't mean a place called Kansas City West, but that he followed him westwards from Kansas City. And yes, on a map Kansas City looks bang in the middle.
I suppose the lyric sites could be wrong, they often are, and seem to copy each other anyway. And I don't think there were lyrics provided on Trilogy. But then it's just as likely me mishearing, that certainly happens quite a bit.

Is Rutherfordium a "Hard Material"?
Most likely, yes.
Little is known about it, but it seems that its chemical properties are similar to those of hafnium.
Which seems to be a hard metal at all.

Are there any theoretical physicists out there? 🙂
I'm certainly not a physicist, much less a theoretical one, but Google seems just to know everything out there... 🙂
