I did find the lyrics of #13, "Run for your life" by the Fab Four extremely unsettling. Never really listened to them. Reeks of John Lennon, IMO.

It's "one of those nights"...particularly on the BBC wireless.

Clean-cut Whispering Bob Harris was joking about renaming his 70's show "The Sunday Afternoon SHIM". Does he know what the word means?

And just now I was sure I was enjoying Joe Walsh "Rocky Mountain Way", when Paul Gambuccini, usually of infallible memory, said that was "Rocky Mountain High" by John Denver.

Whatever is going on?

I got a call on a rainy Monday
Business was uneasy
So I flipped open a fresh packet of cigarettes
And considered the situation

All these years I've been hearing the lyrics as:

The sheriff followed Josie's trail
From Kansas City West...
Interesting observation even for me, a non-native English speaker.
So, I've re-listened to the song several times and it seems to say "Kansas City West", although I don't think Greg Lake actually really says that way since I'm guessing he just cuts off the "in the" for usual reasons of musical metrics.

A quick search of the lyrics shows that both ways are reported in a similar percentage on the Internet.
Kansas City West does not seem to exist at all, even if it really is in the Middle West.

Thanks, your reply sparked something entertaining and informative.
