Testing pre-amp without power amp

Hello there,

I am (hopefully) wrapping up my FlatBT, by late Dr. Borivoje Jagodic, pre-amp. Based on documentation all looks good, power supply is solid, pot is connected, BIAS is adjusted on both channels, LEDs are bright. Now here is a question: How can I test it without power amplifier? I have a DENON receiver, can I plug FlatBT output to DENON input and, if so, what should I start with for pot setting?

Thanks in advance!

Check the DC operating voltages first, and compare with the schematic. If they are correct,
you can connect the preamp outputs to the line level inputs on the Denon (not the phono inputs).
Then set the preamp volume control to about halfway. This should give a roughly normal sound level.
Not the ideal method of testing though.

If you do hook the preamp to the Denon, have the Denon volume control all the way down first.
Then turn the preamp on for a few minutes, before you connect it to the Denon.
The preamp may have turn-on transients.
