Tektronix AM5030 with A6302 current probe

6 day auction just spotted on eBay.. How high will this go? This is the top-of-the-line current probe with amp. With 5 days left, there are 5 bids already @ $236.38.

Sometimes I see just the probes go for $600. AM5030s rarely come up, too.

I have bought (5) AM-503 on ebay none worked (I did get a full refunds). It is difficult to find a working unit. The highest price I paid was $750 complete with probe and mainframe.

I'm trying to collect one of each of all the 5000 series plugins. Sometimes its just fun to watch what others pay. eBay is the place to sell, but not the place to buy (usually). For me, an AM5030 is a top collectible.

The problem I have with TM500 series is the depth of the main frame, it take all the space on my bench.

I only have 2 SG-505 and AA-501.

Ebay is not the place for the high value test items. I got a AM503 in a TM501
with the A6302 probe all working perfectly on craigslist for $50. Yes, that's
a single zero.

Anyway, you shouldn't expect this era test equipment to work. If you buy
this stuff, you should expect to fix it. Tek expected you to service it, that's
why they wrote those awesome manuals. That all changed in the 1990's,
try fixing a 11000 series scope; now that's a real boat-anchor.

Once you have a lot of test equipment, it's best to just rack mount it. Tek
and HP rack mount stuff is generally cheaper than the bench units and it's
physically easier to service. The only test equipment on my bench is a
crappy radio shack DMM.

The other solution is to get a model 3 scope cart. That will hold a pair
of TM504 or tm5003 plus a scope. The lower mainframe is a bit too low
to work with though.

I was cleaning, like I try to do once every week, and was screaming take a picture of me now before I get all dirty again with another power amp, mixer, guitar amp, etc.. all spread out

Looks great! Love seeing the System One. I need one, but my employer is cheap. Is that an HP synthesized function generator bottom shelf far left? Are five power supplies enough?

Kind of a mirror image of my bench but with your computer on the left and you're using the corner turned in too.

How did you the picture?
No its a Leader 3216 FM generator.
I have few more HV power supplies.

I used the url of the picture not the url of the page that included it. My dad used to have a bunch of 2.5KV, 5KV and 7.5KV lab power supplies. As I kid, I was scared to go near them!

Mine only goes up to 400V.

My dad worked with radio transmitters... They were huge rack mount items with large orange and yellow warning labels.
