My guess is that the caps are tantalums that are known to short and the 22 Ohm isolation resistor fried. There may be other tantalums caps that are waiting to smoke. A low esr electrolytic would be a suitable replacement.
I have not encountered one of those in 25? Years. They are pretty sophisticated. I hope you can get the software going. Its a candidate for a usb floppy emulator.
