Sorry if it was done for my considerations
To reply slightly:
I used to have same type of speakers placed exactly like yours ( it was advised to do so in the infinity's manuals; before, I used to have a pair of Aliison four 😱 )
BTW I remember searching for HPM series crossover's schematic one/two months ago because I scrounged a rotten pair for 50 € (not worth )
Sooo...an audiophile /DIYer might already been doin' the change of the old capacitors inside for it would have produced a dramatic improvement of sound
( if you think that's BS maybe you should turn off/remove the EQ apparel and perform the most basic system...which is quite the opposite of pro ones -just count the knobs/buttons )

Talking about the TT:
I still wonder why parallel traking hasn't affirmed over pivoted arm; still in 2016 the technique hasn't produced any affordable solution for it.
The tradeoffs ( if any : I haven't read lately or searched for such solutions ) might be more
hard to overcome than the regular one.
Obsolete parts is the first thing that comes to my mind, after the complicate schematics

Here is my DEQ - the Pioneer does just fine though. There is always better and a difference of opinion so please forgive my un-youthfull non-exuberance but I have heard it all before from neophyte audiophiles:

For me it is more about the music rather than the perceived purity of the signal path ;-)
