Ah yes, The datasheet does have a master classification but the description states voltage amplifier.
The base drive for the output stage is clamped by the BE junction, like any other EF BJT amplifier. This is the same fundamental misunderstanding that led to the fracas a few posts ago. The emitter voltage follows the base voltage (less 1Vbe), it does not sit at midpoint or 0V. That is how all EF outputs work, or I'm not following the question.
