Hi,

IMO : locally sorted and after production marked chip for higher grade CD players before 1988 internal customers or OEMs !

Take a picture of the bottom to prove the buyer it is not a resoldered chip. Also confirm he is looking for a non-A version ; show him the 560 pF DEM cap between pin 16 & 17 at the bottom of the pcb will show him it's a A version...non printed A, but trully S1 grade !

We had the case of a non marked A chip R1 grade which is in fact a true A as it works only with the DEM clock cap ! http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/digital-line-level/79452-building-ultimate-nos-dac-using-tda1541a-566.html#post4621510 ; anyway not exactly a prove as I would like to see the photograph, maybe a troll !

Anyway, it's clear this chip is on several Marantz/Philips player and trully exist... you have your prove !

But I will simply avoid to sell him : futur problems you will certainly have with him ! If you want really to sell him : let the cd player or board to sound near him (and the second as well as a prove, and ask you if all this loosing time worths the cost you sell the chip !).

To kinding us, how much do you sell this board 😀 ?

You should be happy, this TDA 1541 S1 with out the A sounds very very good.

I got one from my friend from England.

He took it out from a very old Acram CD Player.

You can see on the HHH code, that was made in Holland.

Here also a picture of my TDA 1541 S1

Aaaaaaghhhh!!

Yet another Ebay buyer accusing me of being a faker!!!!!!

He's started a PayPal dispute saying the item is not as described.

REDUCED ** TDA1541 S1 ** ULTRA RARE --- DAC Board From Marantz SE CD Player | eBay

I've had the board, and another one just like it, for over 15 years.

Time Waster !!!!!

Andy

Maybe worth updating the advert and include a link to the discussions here??

You'll be lucky if time is all he's wasting: Paypal is notorious for being extremely buyer-friendly, even to the point of demanding that a suspicious buyer destroy suspected fakes without any proof:

PayPal: if you don't like the violin you bought, smash it and we'll give you your money back

You can try: send all those posts with bottom photograph of two pcbs side by side and upon side too to Dutch Audio Classic to know what they think and rewrite the text with both a a link here and the answer of Dutch Audio Classic ! 🙄

What we want all to know is : what do you have now which sound better than a TDA1541 non-A S1 ? : don't tell me it's an ESS9018 or I will not believe you as well !😀

Well...how right you were !!!

I attached the photos as evidence that the TDA1541 S1 exist !!!!!

I thought that they would counter the accusation that it was a fake.

But no... they decided in his favour !!

He does have to return the board in the original condition so any scratches to the S1 etc will be claimed for.

Andy

I assume they don't want to manage exceptions, ! Hard to know, they don't judge the product but more the equity of the transaction: doubt goes automaticly to the one who asks and want to break the process maybe ?!

Well what do we have now: your Customer is stupid or a thief... I hope all will be ok for you and the story was just he expected to have a marked A and didn't read well your text !
