Tantalum Capacitors in Signal Path

Hi Guys!
I remember that in the late 70s or early 80s Hi-Fi Answers (England) had an article where they suggested removing the tantalum I/P caps in the Naim power amp (mentioning that you will void your warranty!) but the sound will be much improved.
All the best,

Tantalum caps can be very good but 5 mm Wima MKS2 are in general better for coupling till about 10 uF. A very handy type is the 1 uF 2.5 mm pitched one.

Film caps are to be prefered over polarised electrolytic caps anyway. They also don’t need replacement in time.

This counts in general. Some brands and their customers have other preferences. Often gimmicks to make them different.
